It was a dismal night in Sunnydale, California as Angel, the only vampire in history known to have his human soul restored, stood outside The Bronze in the shadows, watching over the Slayer. She surprised him. She had actually been able to stop The Harvest; stop The Master from rising to the surface. He had never known any Slayer in experience to have such potential.
After everything he had seen that Buffy had been through, she was lucky to live longer than most Vampire Slayers in previous centuries. Buffy's potential and second chances, to Angel, were surprising and just plain luck. She had the best luck out of all the Slayers, but he figured that it was because she had friends to help her, while other Slayers had always been loners. Buffy was as special as they came, as far as he knew.
"Well, I'll be damned. She did it," he said out loud to himself, as he stood in the darkness of the shadows.
A moment later, he walked away to head home to his apartment.
