It had been 2 days since the incident and the whole event had been eating me alive. I had too many thoughts about what had happened. As our usual list goes here are the 5 real big thoughts from the event.

1. Toni almost died and I couldn't tell anyone, not even Betty, about what happened.

2. Toni needs help but I can't tell anyone without betraying her trust.

3. Toni has now dropped near to the bottom of the school due to Veronica.

4. Toni was now single and we had actually spoke a couple words.

5. Toni knows who I am.

Though to many this might not seem like a big step, maybe it isn't. But to me it is everything. Though i knew better than to let it give me up or cause distraction.

Something I've learned over the years mainly from Veronica was the fact that I would not ever be loved. Who could love someone like me?

"ugh I can smell the stentch of booze and drugs on you from a mile away" I could hear the destructive words of Veronica Lodge and knew they could only be aimed at one person. I peeked around the corner of the hall and saw Toni walking down past her, her face showing no expression on it at all.

She was getting closer and the panic settled in a little, should I say something or just let her walk away. She came right up next to me, her eyes turning to meet me for a second. One long second that I wish I could savour forever. But she moved on and kept walking away.

I was left standing there, a small defeated huff leaving my lips.

"hey Cher, ready to go to lunch?" the familiar perky voice of Betty brought me back to the sad reality.

"yes, let's go" I nodded a little and walked with her. Lunch was always a horror show waiting to happen. Veronica and her passi were a danger to watch for. The amount of times I had been tripped and humiliated when trying to get to my table for lunch. It was always me and Betty together at the end table, she was friends with others but refused to leave me. Sometimes we were joined by others like Kevin but mainly it was just the two of us.

I saw Veronica and her cheerleaders to one side of the room so I head the complete opposite way. I wanted to steer clear of them

"just ignore them Cheryl" Betty whispered putting a supportive hand on my shoulder. We took a turn towards our lunch table and my stomach clenched as I saw the raven haired girl moving towards us. I picked up my speed, wanting to sit down before she could stop me. But before I could work out how to dodge her, her leg shoved out and my foot caught on it making me trip over. The laughters already begun and I prepared for the impact of the ground but it never came, instead she felt into gentle arms with hands that rested on me to stabalise me and keep me upright. My eyes looked up to see who was my saviour, the sight leaving my mouth dry.
