I sat in algebra, bored as hell. My mind drifted from its blank state to what I get to do after school. I wonder if Eita would see if he could convince Ushijima to let me try and practice with them. I smile to myself, thinking of me failing and hitting Eita in the head with a ball.
Later...

Shockingly, school went fast for me. I waited outside the school for Eita so we could walk to the gym for his practice. I stood where I usually did to meet up with him when I saw Tendou walk out of the school and start heading around the corner.

"Hey!! Tendou!" I yell, running up to him.

I basically tackled him because I didn't expect him to turn around so quickly.

"Hey y/n" He chucked.

"I'm so sorry are you okay?? I didn't think you'd turn around so fast!" I say, worried.

"Heh. I'm fine. I should be asking if you're alright. You took more of a tumble than I did. You've got quite a bit of strength for how small you are." Tendo replied with a smirk.

He continues. "Are you planning on watching practice?"

"Yeah, are you going tonight?" I ask to confirm my suspicions.

"Of course! I'd never miss practice, I'm not you're brother," He taunted.

"Hey! Don't say that about Eita!"

Tendo laughed and began walking me to the gym to let me in. He unlocked the door quickly before the other guys got there, and held it for me.

"Ladies first."

I blushed at him being a gentleman. Eita always described him as scary, but he didn't seem scary at all.

"Welcome! Welcome to my domain," Tendou said with a laugh.

"Glad to be here! Hey, do you think Ushijima would let me, well, try and practice with you guys? I've never really played vol-"

"Who cares what he thinks? I'll get the balls out and teach you how to play a bit" Tendou cut me off again.

He continued, "As long as the guys aren't here yet, we should be fine. Even if they do get here, they'll be mad at me, not you." He patted me on the head and pointed to a set of chairs along the side of the court.

"You can wait there until I'm done getting everything set up if you want," He said kindly.

I reluctantly took a seat, really wanting to help, but before I knew it Tendou had already gotten everything out and ready to use.

"Woah." I say in shock.

"Everything alright, y/n?" Tendou asked.

"Of course. I've just never been able to be on a volleyball court basically by myself. It's so huge to look at it empty" I replied to him.

"I understand, but there's no use waiting and staring. Let's get on that court and play Volleyball!" He said, with full enthusiasm.

Tendou began teaching me the basics of volleyball. How to receive, serve, block, spike, and set.

"I saved setting for last because it's your brother's position." He laughs.

"Hey! Setters are cool!"

Tendou smirks, "So are blockers."

I frown. "I wouldn't know. I'm too short."

Tendou gave off a thinking expression and then put his finger up like he had an idea.

"Let's give it a try! I'm tall, I can help you." He offers.

"How are you going to help me jump? You can't jump magically give me your jumping abilities"

"Just trust me!"

"Fineeee"

I walk up to the net, Tendou happily humming to himself behind me.

"Alright. Now, I want you to try and jump up and extend your arms as far as possible in the air," Tendou explains to me.

"I don't think I can-"

"Of course you can!" He cuts me off yet again. I think he should be famous for it.

"I know you can do it, y/n. You'll get nowhere without trying new things. I want you to try your best at jumping, even if you don't get high enough first try."

"Are you ready?" He pauses.

"I guess,"

"1.."

"2.."

"3.."

"Jump!"

I jump up as high as I can and can barely get my fingertips above the net. Then, I feel hands around my waist. I looked down at the ground confused as ever. I was floating. Then I noticed Tendou holding me up. He made me feel so light, like I could drift away in the wind.

Tendou continues talking. "Look over the net, see how it feels to block a spiker. To know that it's your point and they can't score. It feels so amazing."

"I shouldn't have underestimated you about how much it takes to be a blocker, but oh my god. I wish I was tall enough to play in the big leagues like you guys." I say with a frown. I wanted to stay in the air forever and just float.

Tendou laughed, still holding me in the air, but our mini-practice was soon interrupted.

I heard a loud creak as I was watching Tendou attempting to boost me higher into the air so I was almost completely over the net. The gym door was opened. In the doorway was Eita.
