Eyes as bright as thirty candles in the dark.

Taking care of one isn't exactly a walk in the park.

They can be whiny and needy

But they are not greedy

They love you and care about your mental health

Even when they scare the shit out of you with their sneaky stealth

Even when they reduce your clothing to a single shred.

Know they're thinking about what's going on in your head.

I'm not a psychologist, or a vet.

I'm just someone who loves their pet.

They might bite your finger, wake you up at three o' clock.

Drink from your cup, or sneak past your lock.

They care about you, all the same

Its not them you should blame.

You and I both know that one day they will depart.

So until then, cherish them with all your heart.
