Smitten was tired, the day wearing him down from his powers being used so often during the day. There were an especially large amount of sinners to scan today and he didn't want to do any more. He didn't want his assistant, an Incubus named Sebias, to be on his ass about leaving his post, so he reluctantly stayed there. Then, he saw what seemed like an Extermination Angel and he stopped it.
"What are you doing here?"
"Oh I'm just-"
"Just what? The last extermination was just yesterday!"
"Ex...termination?"
"You're gonna act like you don't know? Pffft. You guys just wanna find an excuse to kill demons?"
"I'm just here to see the princess. Oh what was her name-?"
"Charlie? Oh there's no way you're getting rid of her"
Smitten was getting increasingly pissed. Why was this EA here looking for Charlie? Are they on a mission? He decided to not take a chance, getting into a fight with it.

Eventually, the EA had won the battle, flying down to the Happy Hotel.
Jewel was running out of time. She only had a limited amount until she'd become a fallen angel and be stuck in the fiery pit of despair forever. The scuffle with the demon at the gates didn't help either; it only wasted precious time that she needed for interviewing Charlie.
Once Jewel had finished quickly questioning the princess, she had flown off as fast as she could go; she only had a little bit of time left. She flapped her wings and hard as she could, them slowly turning a coal black.
I need to make it, she thought, I need to make it...for him.
Her back muscles ached and burned, but she didn't care. She was about to pass the Gatekeeper Demon and kept going, and going, and going, but...
Time's up.
An unknown voice bellowed to Jewel; the shock of not being able to make it made her stop moving her wings, and she slowly started to fall down.
Smitten stared at her in disbelief.
