Once Lily got back to their temporary home, she found Finn in the tiny kitchen packing stuff in a basket. As he turned around to pick up sandwiches from the kitchen counter, he saw Lily.
"What happened?" He worriedly asked her."Oh... this?" she signaled her mud stained clothes.
"Yeah."
"I had a conversation with the locals at the open market." She subtly smiled.
"They were talking about the Sunday laws and I just had to tell them the truth behind it." She sat on one of the stools by the counter as Finn waited patiently for her to inform him.
"They didn't like what I told them." She continued.
Finn moved to stand beside her. His hands gently rested on her mud stained cheeks and turned her to face him.
"You're brave. You know that?"
"You made me brave, Finn." She confessed. Looking around the kitchen, she wondered what Finn was up to.
"Are those for charity?" she asked as she pointed to the full basket.
"No. That...that's ours." He let out a chuckle.
"I realized that, we haven't gone on a date for weeks so...I wanted to take the both of us on a picnic date." He scratched the back of his neck.
"Aww. How sweet of you. I'll just take a quick shower then we go on our date." She leaned in and gave him a peck on his lips and dashed out of the kitchen.
To say she was excited was an understatement. She rushed to their tiny washroom and took her warm shower while Finn finished up with the packing. He double-checked the items, making sure that everything they'll need was packed and ready to go.
Ten minutes later, Lily was out of the shower feeling fresh and giddy. She decided to wear her floral romper with her moccasin shoes, tied her hair in a loose bun after air drying it and applied some deodorant.
Spritzing her vanilla scented body spray, she got out of her room and joined Finn in the living room where he was sat, patiently waiting for her as he texted away on his phone.
"I'm ready." She announced.
Looking at her from head to toe, Finn felt as if he was meeting her for the first time all over again. From the wisps of hair that fell from her bun, to her almond shaped eyes, her glossy pink lips, to her athletic legs. Lord, thank you. He silently thanked God for his woman.
"Should I carry a sweater? Or... not. The sun is pretty bright." She asked him.
"Just carry it. You never know, it might get chilly by the time we head back here."
"Okay." She rushed back to their tiny bedroom and wore her tan, knee length cardigan.
"First of all, I'm super proud of you." Finn said once they were out of the cabin.
