Hey so I haven't uploaded in a long time I apologise, a lot of stuff has been happening recently but I'm back I wanna start posting more so I'm very sorry. I will be working on the next chapter of the Percy gets betrayed story over the next couple days and then I wanna start getting back into the swing of things. Very sorry and I hope you enjoy.
Percy POV
Natasha undid the cuffs that's were holding me against the table and I gently rubbed my wrist to deal with the slight discomfort and itchiness they caused. I was led out of a room with two Natasha taking the lead and two guards escorting me from behind. My mind was reeling at the potential to need to break away, I was evaluating every shift and weakness in their positions just like Chiron has told me to do when he found out I was to be leaving camp.
Flashback
I was flashed back to half blood hill after meeting with the gods about my stay with the mortals. I sighed, running a hand through my hair as I realised that I had not been around normal people for a while. I slowly trudged down towards the big house to let Chiron know of my scheduled leave whilst trying to ignore the many stares and whispers that followed me. Ever since I killed Gaia every Demi god seemed to think I was some kind of celebrity or king.
It was when I got to the climbing wall that the first person slowly came over to me, a look of awe on his face. "Are you- are you Percy Jackson?" He asked timidly, his blue eyes looking down at his shows and his lengthy blonde hair covering his face. "Yeah that's me, what can I help you with?" I asked, putting on my kindest voice so as to hide my irritation and shame. I was no god. I failed my friends. I was such a-
"The Percy Jackson? The one that blew up a hole in the wall in 9th grade and the one that fought that kidnapper on the beach?" He said, awe filling his voice. Now that confused me, normally I get the slayer of Gaia title that I loathed but Percy Jackson, Slayer of Schools and Kidnapping Killer. Now that was new.
"Yeaaaaaaah? How do you know about that?" I asked, curiosity and humour filling my voice. He started literally jumping up and down in joy when I told him yes.
"I've heard all about you! When you were kidnapped it was all over the news, and then the school explosions and then the disappearance last year! YOURE A BUZZFEED UNSOLVED CASE THATS SO COOL! YOURE MY HERO!" He screamed, before literally jumping to hug my leg causing me to grunt slightly in pain. I smiled as I hugged him back, remembering another small boy dragged into this world that once held such enthusiasm. I missed him.
"What's your name?" I asked him, fighting back the tears that threatened to spill. "My name is Collin Creevey, I'm a son of Hecate." He smiled happily, and I couldn't help but smile back. "Well Collin Creevey, I have to quickly talk to Chiron but how about when I'm done you can come sit at the Poseidon table today at lunch and I'll explain all those unsolved mysteries about me? How does that sound?"
"Really? Can I?" I just ruffled his hair and nodded at him, his youthful joy was contagious. I continued walking to Chiron and found him sitting on the porch with an pack of Pinochle cards at an empty table. Normally he could be found playing with Dionysus but after the war he was granted the end of his punishment as director of camp and allowed to return to his wife Ariadne.
"Percy M'boy, how are you? You have not been around camp as of late, I was beginning to think it might be best to send someone in to make sure you weren't just sleeping for months." He joked, although his voice showed genuine concern causing me to instantly feel bad.
"I'm sorry Chiron, after everything that happened with ... her. I couldn't bring it within myself to face the world she loved. She had plans ya know? Wanted to make a never ending monument, a legacy to last a lifetime. I fear this was not what she had hoped for." I sighed, whilst Chiron just chuckled.
"Percy, my greatest student, you are looking at a picture of a picture. Annabeth had wanted to build something that was unbreakable, that would never be forgotten. That dream, she believed, took the form of architecture. However, I received this letter a week within your departure from the Roman camp Jupiter. Would you like to read it?" He asked, handing me a piece of paper delicately.
Dear Chiron,
We have found Percy and the remaining demigods for the prophecy of the seven. We had planned to return to Camp before departure but after a run in with a few problems we fear we must begin immediately, I am sorry, I had hoped to see you one last time before heading off, after all, it was you who has raised me and been the best father I could've asked for.
That's why I wanted to tell you. Remember when I told you of my run in with the sirens, the vision they showed? I succeeded in a way I did not expect but am happier with. Percy had suffered from the same amnesia as Jason had but there was one thing he remembered that Jason had not, a name. My name. The legacy I built with Percy was so strong that not even a divine intervention could break it. My dream was achieved Chiron, and I thank you for never letting me give up on it.
I have to leave now, Percy is being given the controls to the Argo II and as much as I love him I can't leave him alone. Wait I just said I love him. I haven't told him that yet. I need to tell him. He doesn't know. How do I tell him? It appears I have another dilemma to solve. Many thanks and much love Chiron and I'll see you on the voyage home.
May the gods and the fates guide you,
Annabeth Chase. My hands shook as I looked at this letter. Tears fell freely from my face and my breathing was unsteady.
"Now then my boy, when you have taken a minute to compose yourself, tell me, why is it you wished to speak with me?"
