As they sat down ford looked quite happy and stanley looked worried. you four talked and joked for the rest of lunch up until the bell rang. The twins got ahead of you and carla saying they’d meet you in class.
“Did stanley seem nervous to you?” you asked carla
She looked over at you and said “yea, i’ll call him after after school just to make sure he’s okay”
You mumbled an ‘ok’ or ‘alright’ and then said “ill met you next class i have to go to my locker”
She nodded and smiled at you as you went your separate ways. As you were heading to your locker you started to ponder your conversation with Corkie. Fuck, you really did like ford, he was really nice to you. Conveniently, walking to your locker you bumped into ford, literally.
“Oop- oh um hi?” (hi im midwestern so ope) you say shaking your thoughts away
“Oh -um- yes!” he said smiling his usual awkward smile.
“Are you ok- uh what are you doing here?” you ask, feeling so awkward and not knowing how to start a conversation with your new crush.
“Yes, I have to drop off some work to my second hour,” he said referencing to the pile of papers he held in his hand .
“Oh nic- wait. Is that the homework they just assigned today?”
“Yes?” he said scratching the back of his neck.
“You’re such a dweeb” you said through chuckles
He laughed along with you and when you looked up you could swear he was blushing
“Well i have to get to our current class so i’ll see you there?”
“Sure?” he said as he walked away.
When you got to class you all didn’t have all that much time to talk, considering your math teacher gave out 4 pages of homework and you did as much of it as you could in class.
A few hours later you were home,you dropped your stuff off and you started to head to the beach,expecting to sit on the swings just to chill and watch the sunset.
You got down to the beach and were sitting on one of the swings when you felt someone sit beside you.
"Hey carla" you said
“Hey” she said slightly swinging “so i talked to stanley,”
“Oh boy” you said sighing
“Apperantly Ford is going to some fancy college across the state (can’t remember if its state or country), and lee is distraught.”she said frowning.
You felt your heart slightly drop. Well that’s happening, you’re probably nver gonna see him again. Stanley! Oh no, Stanley, he must be so-so- ugh. No wonder he was upset. You sigh unintentionally making it loud.
“Crazy huh?” she said sighing too
You decided then and there, you are gonna make this next little while count.
