Lucy sat at a wooden table slowly sipping her coffee and listening to the talks of war make its way into her ears and through her brain. She sighed, setting her coffee down swiftly with force seeing as she was against war, fighting, anything of that sort; it made her feel horrible being human.
Thankfully there weren't many people at the small cafe she was attending at the moment. 'Less the people less the trouble', she thought to herself.
She looked at the ticking clock on the tan wooden walls, then to the man who was flirting with the counter woman who took orders and made the drinks.
Lucy's mind raced, yet she calmly sat there, thinking of many things. She had no family, no pets, no significant other. Just herself. And she was okay with that. The only thing she worried about was a upcoming war she had been hearing of, and it made her head hurt and her heart ache, for she knew there would be much bloodshed between the two new "countries". Ever since the south split from the rest of the states, and decided to declare itself its own country for its own rules and lawmaking, tension was quickly created.
It was a nice afternoon in the southern border state Missouri where the cafe was that Lucy sat in and drank her nice cup of coffee. But she knew it wouldn't be nice for long; she already knew that since the state of Missouri and a few others didn't secede from the union nor join the Confederacy, she knew indeed that the state would be used as a major battle place if a war was to actually take place...and she resented that thought.
Lucy quickly regained her posture and picked her mug back up into her right hand and began sipping away as she watched the door carefully, seeing if anyone else was going to stride on in with mentions of war emitting from their no good mouth.
