Chapter by GoldenBadger5
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Jacob's POV
I was sitting on the swing at the park, being pushed gently by a man. I swung my legs back and forth messily, "Wook, Mommy! Imma big girl!", I yelled happily.
A young woman of about 30 with kind grey eyes stood by us smiling warmly. "You are aren't you," she laughed before giving the man pushing me a pointed look, "Be careful, sweetheart."I pushed myself off of the swing and took off toward the playscape, leaving the adults to chase after me hurridly. Suddenly, a pair of strong arms picked me up and cuddled me close, and I giggled. Another pair of arms wrapped around us both and the woman with the nice eyes said, "I love you".
"I wuv you, too," I said softly.
"Don't forget about me!" pouted the man, making me giggle again.
"You too, Daddy," I say.
"And I love you," he said.
And then I was standing in the doorway of a nice bedroom, sniffling as I watched the woman with the nice eyes cry in her bed. She was sobbing, clutching a piece of paper in her hands. "He left," she cried, "he left us. How could he have left us?"All of a sudden she went from sad to angry. "Why did you leave me?!" she screamed, ripping the paper to pieces, "Why did you leave our daughter?!"
Then she deflated, burying her head in her hands, "Do you not love us anymore?" she whispered.
Then I was alone, sitting on a bed looking at my phone.J: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
E: thanks 🙂
J: Is the mom situation getting any better?
E: nope
E: i havent seen her much in the past couple of days cause she's been working so much
J: Oh
J: You know what, we'll just have to celebrate extra to make up for her not being there!
J: Be over at 5?
E: sure
E: i'll bring the ice cream~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I opened my eyes and sat up in my bed, wincing as my wounds protested. I must ́ve dreamt of her memories again. For the past couple of nights I've been having soulmate dreams of this girl, who I ́m assuming is my soulmate, and I always wake up needing to clear my mind.
Maybe I could sneak out. Fathers probably to busy being passed out drunk in his room to notice me leave anyway. I step out of bed and throw on a sweatshirt (yes, I sleep shirtless), before slipping out the front door.
I walk to the nearby park and go to sit down on one of the benches. Unfortunately, with only the very faint moonlight to guide me, I manage to sit on the lap of a poor unsuspecting girl.
I jump up nervously stammering apologies, before hesitantly taking a seat next to her. She stares at me in shock. "I-uh-um," she stutters before bursting out laughing.
I stuck out my bottom lip, "Oh come on, don't be mean." I'm totally not smiling right now. She smiles at me.
"What are you even doing out this late?" she laughs. I squint at her playfully crossing my arms over my chest.
"Why should I tell you? You could be a serial killer! Or even worse, a clown!" I joke.
"Well, you could be a kidnapper! Or even worse, a boy who sits in strangers laps!" she mocks.
"Touché," I say before making up my mind and holding out my hand, "I'm Jacob."
She hesitated before taking my hand and giving it a firm shake. "I'm Ellie."
