I huffed as I slowed my running. It was so much strain.
I think I lost him? I can only hope. I looked around, I'm in the southern side of the forest. There's a empty cave near here. I grunted, jumping over some ruins of a car. Humans are annoying.
My lungs burned and throbbed as I sniffed around for the wet scent of the cave.
Ah there it is. Shaking my head I shifted and stumbled to it, holding my breath I slid between the wall and the boulder blocking the exit. Holding my movements while my eyes adjusted I took a breath. I'm alone still, good. Limping towards the stream trickling through the cave I sat near the edge. Dunking my hands into the water the icy liquid sent shivers along my skin.
Shaking off the dirt and blood I huffed, wiping my hands on my legs which honestly probably didn't help but who cares.
Good thing I set up a bed here last time honestly. I grunted and stood up, blood trickling down my leg and back as I headed for the mound of furs. My legs gave out as soon as I hit the bed, falling directly into the hides.
This is gonna be a pain to heal. My body naturally curled up on the least injured side, the adrenaline easing from my system and making me weak.
Finally some sleep.
