James got lost in his thoughts for a couple more minutes when the subject of Hogwarts crossed his mind. He wasn't quite sure how to access his inheritance so he couldn't support himself on his own. He was backed into a wall on this one. He'd have to go to Hogwarts. He knew far more and was far more skilled than the average student of his age and was even more skilled than most adult wizards, to be perfectly honest. He knew how rich his father was so He guessed he had everything he would need in the house. That is, if they didn't take everything when they abandoned it, which they didn't seem to. In his thoughts, James absently fiddled with the chain around his neck. This was one of the things he had accidentally taken with him in the Library of Time, as he never took it off. The chain was made of pure silver and it had a blue stone hanging off of it. The stone was enchanted so that when you focus on one specific person while wearing it and focus on the stone's power, you can enter and even control that person's dream. You can give them the best dream they've ever had, or you can make them re-live their worst memories or nightmares. The possible scariest thing about this necklace and the reason it's so dangerous, is that you can trap a person in their dream. The only way to get out is for them to accept reality and choose it over their dream. Unless you trap them in a nightmare, then they have to face their nightmare and live through it without cowering away.
The only other magical artifact he was allowed to keep on him through the Library of Time, was one of what he called "The Rings Of Truth". The wearer has to tell the truth, no matter the circumstances, otherwise their soul deteriorates from the inside and they die in literally the most painful way possible. Needless to say, James kept this artifact in his pocket, not on his finger.
He sat on the kitchen floor for a few more minutes, lost in his thoughts, when he glanced out the window and saw the sky brightening. He needed food but really didn't want to go outside. He had already made his presence known but he didn't want to interact with any more people than he absolutely had to. He remembered the fearful, and sometimes, disgusted looks people gave him when they saw him. He was pretty sure he would get those same looks if he went outside today. He put his face in his hands and groaned.
He got up and went to the bathroom mirror and used a spell to disguise himself. It wasn't the best spell he had ever done, but it would have to do. He walked to the front door, took a deep breath and walked out.
