Chapter one - The Library of Time

"Two hundered thousand, six hundered and seventy-eight" James said proudly to himself after loudly closing the book he had just finished reading. He got up and put the book on a shelf that held the other said two hundered thousand, six hundered and seventy-eight books he had read. He then sat back down and thought for a moment. Then with one swift motion and a soft murmur of an incantation under his breath, he blasted a spell at the wall, scarred from his many other escape attempts.
"Didn't think so." He muttered. With a sigh he got up and crossed the cave to a different bookshelf that held the several hundered books he had yet to read. He sat back down and made a mental note to try to break his reading time record. So far he had been unsuccessful but maybe this time...

"Really, Filch, you need to keep that cat of yours away from the house elves!" Headmaster McGonnagle said sternly as she walked briskly down the corridor.
"Not my fault those nasty things keep provoking her." Argus Filch replied as he tried to keep up with McGonnagle in their search for Mrs. Norris who had run off chasing a house elf.
"Yes, but you can try to keep her in a separate room from them when they come out of the kitchen from time to time" McGonnagle said as she reached an abrupt stop at a fork in the corridor.
"And lose her freed-" Filch complained as he slammed facefirst into McGonnagle.
"Filch, you take this hallway, I'll take that one. If I find Mrs. Norris, I'll find some way to contact you and let you know"
"Filch grumbled under his breath about not being able to use magic, but did what he was told. McGonnagle glided down the hallway but stopped after a few feet, remembering that last time Harry Potter had visited Hogwarts, he had given her The Marauder's Map, given to him by the Weasley Twins in his third year. She took it out of her robes pocket and opened it after saying the incantation, hoping to see Mrs. Norris but instead finds something much more interesting.
