It was now a few days later and the Lionesses camp was in full swing. Natalia had been invited to tag along to the camp to keep her involved with the team. She was seeing the Lionesses physio team to keep up with her rehab while sitting on the sidelines at training so she could learn whatever tactic Phil had for them next.
Things between her and Rachel had been... awkward to say the least. After she had gotten out of Jordan's dumb dare by kissing Rachel on the cheek they hadn't said a word to each other. That was until Rachrl cornered her after a gym session.
"We need to talk."
"There's nothing to talk about Rachel. Whatever happened happened. It's in the past. You're still with Kristie and I totally respect that so please, just forget what happened."
"I can't forget! It's fucking burned deep in my brain Nat! How can I forget? Don't tell me you want to forget." She took a step closer. Nat was backed against the wall and with each passing second the gap between them shrunk. "Because I don't want to forget."
FLASHBACK TO WHEN RACHEL WENT OVER TO NATS, THIS DOESNT HAVE AN ESTABLISHED TIMELINE SO IDK WHEN IT WAS
"Um yeah fine. She's fine. Things are fine." Rachel muttered quickly, the silence returning but this time it was an incredible uncomfortable silence. "Actually.. we're taking another break. Just seeing how we feel."
"Oh. I'm sorry to hear that... that su-"
"Cut the bullshit Nat, I know how you feel about me."
"What? What are you on about?"
"Oh please, the staring, the blushing, the lack of eye contact. It's obvious."
"Okay! Okay! There's something there alright! And I'm sor-" She was cut off by lips pressed to hers. Quickly the kisses got hotter and heavier, and before Natalia knew it she was being carried to the bedroom and the door was slammed shut.
FLASHFORWARD TO THE NEXT MORNING
When Natalia woke up Rachel was gone. No note left, no text messages. Nothing. She went about her normal morning routine even though she had a small pit in her stomach. Something felt off. She ignored it and went back to eating her breakfast whilst scrolling through instagram. That was where she saw it.
