The wind was howling between the gaps in my windows. The roar of the falling lava outside of my door made me hungry. The heavy footsteps of 'things outside' kept me awake. I didn't know whether it was night or day. A restless night was all that I needed in order to become confused. The only reason I knew that it was nightime then, was because I felt tired. I was still awaking and sleeping in my routine... As I would at home. However, one restless night meant that my routine had gone flying out of the window. One restless night meant that I didn't know the time in the real world. One restless night left little hope for me to be rescued.

I woke up in my office.
Oh, I thought, I must have been working late! I sat up in my spinny chair and sighed. I could just about make out my reflection in the slight shine of the computer screen. My long brown hair was all ruffled about. My pale complexion glinted in the screen and made me look almost ghostly. The dark green beret fitted onto my head perfectly.
Suddenly a repetive beep starting coming from the control table. All of the lights were flashing red, syncopted with the beeps. It sounded like a chorus of frogs, singing together for the tones were all different. Something was happening; and I didn't know what.

Then suddenly, out of nowhere, I heard a loud bang. Startled, I jumped up and scanned my surrounding for the billionth time. I had done this so many times, it was almost becoming natural. I knew that someone must be looking for me. I also knew that something was also looking at me, but I tried to ignore that matter. But, that was about all I knew. Ever since that day I fell into darkness. As I flopped back onto my pile of rags, something fell off my head. My beret. This reminded me of so many things...
Tears started running down my face as memories flooded into my mind. Then I remembered, I must rid myself of all emotions. I must concentrate, focus on the task and excell in what I needed to do. I suddenly realised that I was there waiting for someone else to rescue me; but I was more than capable of rescuing myself, plus, I didn't know who was going to rescue me.
