Matthew is a highly intelligent fourteen year old. He had read many books, and as such gained quite the vast intellect for someone of his age.
He is also quite shy and as such has a hard time making friends. It's not entirely impossible though. He just doesn't do too good in certain situations when interacting with people.
Something you wouldn't expect him to be is courageous or brave because of how shy he is. Truthfully though he knows when it is time to leave his fears behind and just dive in.
Sadly though he is actually quite gullible. His mind isn't so much able to be warped completely, but more bet to a fake reality others and himself can make him believe. After all no ones mind is truly a fortress.
Luckily for him and his friends though he is kind and caring. He will always be nice to you if you are nice to him. He will also always care about people because of his ability to empathize.
He is also insecure though. Not because of him being shy though. His shyness and insecurity are linked to a speech impediment he has. He stutters when speaking sometimes.
He is also dedicated though. If his mind is set to a task, it is set and can't be changed. Be it something small or something huge. He will dedicated time and effort into whatever it is.
Sadly though he is also clumsy, then again who isn't? He just seems to stumble over his own two feet sometimes. Or seems to make silly mistakes. Though he doesn't always let this get to him.
Finally he is loyal. If you are by his side he will always be by yours. Unless you turn your back on him, but even then he will find the goodness in his heart to always help you. Don't mistake his loyalty with generosity though because the two are far different.
