"I think the perfection of love is that it's not perfect."

-Taylor Swift

Everything started one day when you woke up, presumably in the middle of the night, and glanced around the room. You didn't recognize anything about the room.
It was dark, with white walls and dark carpet on the floor. There was one window covered in light purple drapes, a faint hint of moonlight slipping through it.
You were in a bed that had purple sheets with a selection of differently-colored blankets set neatly on top of it. The pillows were fluffy and red, and the bed itself was soft and cushiony. One blanket in particular, a dark red soft one, was wrapped neatly around you.
The whole room made you comfortable and safe, and had a strange magical aura to it. You found yourself lying back down, breathing in deeply.
That's when a strange yet comforting smoky fragrance hit you, and you sit up, noticing a young man sleeping in the bed beside you, on the other side of it.
He had curly, fluffy-looking white hair and tan skin, and had a peaceful look on his face as he slept.
You dug deep into your memory banks, but you couldn't remember the man, or the room, or... anything. But it did seem very, very familiar.

Then you felt something warm drape itself over your shoulders. You tensed up a bit as you looked down, seeing a snake that had slithered onto you! It had light blue patterned scales and bright red eyes.
"Friend?" The snake spoke in an oddly calming, female voice.
You were so frightened by it that you fell off of the bed, landing on your knees. The snake slithered down and wrapped itself around your arm, leaning its face towards you, "Friend okay?"
The creature blinked once and you cautiously raised a hand up to its eyes, like what someone would do to see if a dog or cat trusts them or not.
The snake licked your fingers and then tipped it's head upside-down, in an almost curious gesture, "No remember Faust?"

"Wh-what?" You whispered, and the snake's mouth tilted downward in a frown.
"I Faust," she explained, "You (Y/N)."
"Faust... I can't remember anything." You said, giving her a concerned look. What am I doing? I'm talking to a snake right now!
You somehow trusted the snake, Faust. She seemed familiar, just like the man.
You looked Faust straight in the eyes and pointed towards the bed. "Bed?" Faust asked, and you shook your head.
"Asra." Faust explained, licking your fingers again, "Fluffy hair. Magic."

You heard a shifting noise, and gave Faust a panicked expression. Faust encouraged you, "Asra. Friend."
You swallowed hard and peered over the side of the bed. Fortunately, Asra wasn't awake, he had just shifted to his side, so now he was facing your side of the bed.
You climbed back onto the bed, Faust settling herself over your shoulders again.
Faust nudged your neck, and you looked down at her questioningly. She then gestured towards Asra, so you looked at him, right in sync with his eyes opening.
He had magnificent violet eyes that shone as the moonlight lit them up.
Faust was the first to speak up, "(Y/N) no memories."

"What do you mean, Faust?" He questioned. He had a soft, soothing voice. Faust moved from your shoulders to his and licked the side of his neck.
Faust then nudged his neck until he looked down at her, and then gestured to you.
"I.. don't remember anything. At all." You explained, but Asra still looked mildly confused.
"Nothing?" He asked,
"Nothing." You responded.
"Do you know who I am?"
"Asra."
"And who am I to you?"

"I... I don't know."

Asra sighed, standing up, "I'm going downstairs. One of my books is sure to have answers. Wanna come?" You nodded.
He paused quickly to put on a red scarf, but then hesitated, looking back at you, "Are you cold?"
"Kind of." You admitted, and he dipped his head and took the scarf off, draping it around your shoulders casually and then started walking again.
"You didn't have t-" You started, and he looked back at you. You saw the pained flash in his eyes and stopped talking instantly. It must hurt for someone you know to suddenly wake up one day not knowing who you are. "Nevermind."

Asra walked down the stairs and then knelt down to examine the bottom shelf of a bookshelf. He ran his fingers across the books, until he found the one he had been looking for. He pulled it out and went to a backroom in building, setting the book down on a circular table and sitting down.
You, however, stood there examining the room. The windows around the table were cracked open just enough for the moonlight to shine down on the table and nothing else, and the white table illuminated in a light blue color.
You sat down across from him, waiting for a while as he read through the pages. Asra had a concerned expression on his face, and he didn't seem to be finding what he had hoped to find in the text.
He slammed the book shut, and looked up at you, a sad look on his face.

"I don't know what to do, (Y/N)." He admitted, shifting in his chair a bit.
"Couldn't you just tell me about everything that's happened?" You said, and he rested his chin on his hand, "I could, but only the important things."
You nodded, agreeing. But then his eyes lit up, "Or I could try to make you remember with my magic."
"How?" You asked. He placed his hand in the middle of the table. "Put your hand on top of mine and close your eyes." Asra explained.
I did as he said, pressing my eyes shut. Nothing happened. I opened my eyes, and Asra looked confused.
"Oh... you must not have your magic... or at least, you don't know how to use it. Yet." He said. He stood up and then sat down on the floor on his knees. "Sit down across from me, knees down on the floor, please."
I once again did as he said and he moved closer to me, so that are knees brushed.
"This might give you a headache, and it might be kind of frightening, so make sure to hold onto me, okay?" You nodded.
He then pressed his forehead lightly against yours, placing his hands on your shoulders. You awkwardly held onto his torso.

Suddenly everything started spinning around you, blinding you in white light.
And just as suddenly as the light, you started to remember again. You were (Y/N) (L/N), Asra's magician apprentice.
You also started remembering the shop you worked at, and you remembered Faust, and you remembered that you had nightmares every night, and Asra always comforting you when he noticed you having one.
But then, a splitting headache caused you to not remember the rest. Your grip on Asra tightened, and you felt the memories drifting away. Now, instead of white light, you saw a haze of dark blue and black.
Two piercing red orbs broke the darkness. The spirit. You'd seen it before, though you didn't remember where. It was in the form of a goat, with one missing arm and glowing red eyes.
You struggled, trying desperately to get back to the waking world. Back to Asra. But the darkness kept reeling you in, whispering in languages you didn't understand.
You then felt yourself fall limp, everything going black.
