"My small heart"•-•-•
A tiny girl emerged from a small house like box mindlessly watching the sunrise out of a stained glass window staring at a tower of bloodied carcasses. She had unnervingly deep blue glassy eyes, and a dazed look. Muzan, her adopted "father" had supposedly finished some business with the old drunks down the alley. He silently emerged in the tiny room the girl was kept in, and unlocked the brass cage. The girl nimbly climes down and onto an old wooden desk, covered in lead, paint, and "ink."
Muzans "day job" was being a "doctor" and "curing" the humans of their mortality. His office had many caged animals, many of them dead, or dying due to the lack of food and water, and an overdose of whatever was injected, or put inside them. The desk was littered with suspicious items, such as glass bottles and sketches of various weapons and a list of names with res crosses through some.In the corner suspended above the desk, was a large brass cage, where there was a tiny house, and a large glass window to look out of.

"You seem to be just as bored as yesterday, (Y/N)-chan, brighten up a little, smile."Muzan humored himself and put his hat onto a coat hanger, and set himself onto a deteriorating chair, waiting for a timid response.
"I believe you are working on your hybrid creatures, yes father?"
I said, completely ignoring his request, and watched him with blank eyes. He shrugged, as usual and turned to his desk, watching over his old drawings and sketches. He pulled out an old, dusty red and golden book from his shelf, and caressed it almost nostalgically.
"You see, (Y/N)-Chan, you weren't supposed to exist. You were supposed to be a measly servant to do my bidding. Fortunately for you, my... research was haphazard, and unreliable."
"That breaks my heart," I said, in a monotone voice as usual, "It's as though you've only told that story once."
He chuckled and put the book away, on its special place on the bookshelf. Muzan-san had forbidden me to read it, as if the contents were to make the hole in my chest even larger.
"Now, I believe I had the demons take care of the town down south, correct? Have they sent any word, or were they slain mercilessly?"
"I haven't heard anything, father, for I am not allowed outside."
I tended to the pigeons and gave them their water, and a tiny pile of seeds. I didn't feel anything towards them. Some had feathers plucked out, and some couldn't move. They were here to serve father, that was their only purpose.
My small feet tapped across the wooden desk with strange bottles of tinctures, poisons and caged living animals. Muzan-san stares out of the window for a few minutes, whilst I climb back into my brass home.
I stepped inside to a familiar room, with a bed small enough to fit me, and an even smaller sofa. I had tiny quills to write replies to letters for father, and a small desk and chair.
I knew father was going out tonight, one of his usual patients was having trouble... eating, and needed some kind of special food that father always seemed to have. He explained that the patient was a little... bloodthirsty too.

Muzan stood quietly, so as not to disturb the other creatures in the room, and took his coat, hat, and bag to head to his regular patient. He had recently been rumored to bite into other people and devour flesh. Muzan rushed for the patients house, and offered him a new life, a life worth living.

Muzan-san still hadn't come home, so I entertained myself by reading fathers books. I pulled down the heavy book, and it fell onto the desk with a loud thud, and I struggled to open it. Instead of horrifying diagrams of some kind of human/demon anatomy, and useless written instructions, there were beautiful pictures of rolling hills bursting with the colors of wild flowers, and huge four-legged beasts galloping, with the wind in their mane.
Suddenly, I felt something stir inside me, some kind of... warmth. It felt... Good? I touched my heart for a moment, confused, what is this? Is this what it's like to be alive?
