~This is a flashback of Reader-Chan's back story~
Alone. An voice echoed through a little girls empty mind. The surrounding area was eerily quiet, as her own house became a raging fire before her. As small as she was, she felt the danger, and the change in the air. The only thing she held in her hands was a tiny knitted blue blanket. Shadows were moving, and the trees were more active than usual.

I awoke in my futon, as the quiet ringing of bells and loud voices outside disturbed my quiet slumber. A note carefully written in flowing ink kanji read,"The pillars will gather for a meeting this morning, and afterwards, the Kisatsutai (Demon Slayer Corps in Japanese) will send a newer group, to explore Mt. Takao, as there have been complaints of raging wildfires, and burnt crops. You will be chaperoning the younger three.
Good Luck out there"
I cursed quietly, and grumbled, as I couldn't see Rengoku-san today and grumpily got dressed in one of my finer kimonos, black with a touch of pink Sakura blossoms here and there. I quickly talked to one of the servants as I made my way to the Butterfly Mansion.
It wasn't a long walk, but it wasn't short either. My katana kept awkwardly bouncing against my leg, and I tightened my white belt, holding it. Eventually I entered the front gates, and greeted Shinobu-san whom I was good friends with, and asked about the trip to Mt Takao.
They had been waiting for a while, supposedly, and Shinobu-san led me to them, in her Mansion. Before I entered the room, I took a breath, and calmed myself. Shinobu-san opened the door, and sat on the Zabuton, as the younger three stopped quarreling, and the quiet dark haired girl stopped squirming. I felt something... Off about this group.
The young blond looked a little dazed, as if he was day dreaming, the young girl looked out of place, and the boar masked young boy looked fidgety. I greeted them, and the burgundy haired boy seemed normal, at the very least. Shinobu-san introduced us.
"Inosuke, Zenitsu, Tanjirou, and Nezuko, this is (L/N)-san, she will be chaperoning, so behave. (Y/N)-Chan, this is your group, Tanjirou, Inosuke, Zenitsu, and Nezuko. You will be staying here until Rengoku-san says, so at least try to socialize."
I rolled my eyes at her, as she winked back, and left the room. I shifted uncomfortably, as "Zenitsu" stared me down in a strange way.
"Well... I'm (Y/N) you can call me that anyways. Nice to meet you I guess?"
I shook hands with all of them, and asked about Nezuko, as she hadn't spoken throughout the whole exchange. I wasn't surprised, but a little unnerved by her, but she just made a few noises and crawled back into her box. They assured me she wasn't dangerous, and as Kocho was so calm, I didn't doubt them.
Soon enough, Rengoku-san entered the room, and I quickly ran up to him, to hug him. The others seemed a little shocked, and even Tanjirou fell silent. He delivered the news that we were to set off, just before lunch.
We took off, and as it was almost noon, the sun beat down on us, while we chatted and walked to the mountains in the distance.
After a few hours of walking, we reached the foot of the mountain. The village was located here, and some houses were visible on the mountain itself. I felt uneasy, something about fires unnerved me. But thanks to my intensive training being around fire, and the fire pillar himself, made me feel a different sort of way. Fire could be kindled, and could burn brightly, like love. A fire that can't be put out.
