Chapter 22 - Angelica

Sitting up in bed I grab my stomach as pain Lance's through me. the bed is wet beneath me and I knew I was in labor looking to the alarm clock I check the time. 2:10 am. Grabbing my watch I clip it onto my wrist and move back untill I'm against the headboard. Looking down it Gunner laying next to me still asleep. He had been exhausted earlier so I decided bro let him sleep while I waited for the contractions to get closer. Grabbing a book from beside me I started to read to kill time. Thirty minutes later I felt another contraction it lasted a full minute. It took another two hours before I was shaking Gunner up.

"Sweetie wake up, the babies are coming" I laugh as Gunner practically fall out of bed and starts throwing clothes on before picking me up gently and carrying me down to the makeshift hospital room next to docs room. Placing a kiss on my forehead Gunner sets me down in the bed and rushes to wake doc up while I call my parents.
They let me know that they will be here soon and I hang up before pulling off night shorts along with my underwear and pull a blanket over me to cover me up.

"How far apart are your contractions?" Doc asks me the moment she walks in with Gunner. "Three minutes apart for one minute for the past half hour"
She immediately starts hooking me up to machines to monitor me and the babies. She comments on how calm I am being while Gunner is freaking out a little. "I've read so many books on labor that I know what to expect so I'm not really that worried" I smiles at her while she gets everything ready.

I feel Gunner place his hand in mine. "This is really happening, my boys are really coming"  my heart swelled at his words. My biggest worry during this whole thing was that he wouldn't accept them as his own, but with the look of pure love on his face as he stared at my stomach I knew I had nothing to worry about.

I'm pulled out of my thoughts when another contraction hit me, taking me by surprise. Doc is between my legs in an instant telling me to push and I do exactly that.

After 3 hours of pain later and cursing later, my body is covered in a thin layer of sweat and my breathes come in pants when the most wonderful sound is heard. The cry of my first born rings in the air. Doc quickly cleans him up and swaddles him before he is placed in my arms . I hush his crys while Gunner strokes his cheek. After a minute of us just staring at him doc places him in one of the Moses baskets we had already set up for the twins.

A total of 5 hours pass since I went into labor I watch as Gunner holds our sons in his arms smiling down at both of them with tears in his eyes. I didn't think my world could get any better, but apparently it could.

The heart monitor picks up as my muscles tense once more. Doc rushes over to me looking lightly panicked as she checks over all of the monitors that are still attached to me. "It seems you have a suprise baby on the way" she tells me with a smile as she goes back to the end of the bed. I look over at Gunner and find he looked pale like he was going to faint. I would have laughed if it wasn't for the contraction. Placing our babies in there baskets he comes back over to my side and takes my hand as I start pushing once more.

An hour later doc places our baby girl in my arms. Tears roll down my face as I see and feel how tiny she is.

"She's so small" Gunners tone is full of wonderment as he voices my thoughts out loud placing his finger in her tiny hand. She laches on to it as she grins up at us letting out a small gurgling noise as if she was trying to giggle.

Moving forward on the bed I let Gunner sit behind me with his legs on either side of me. Doc places one of our boys in my arms while placing the other in Gunners. "Can you call everyone in?" I smile at my three little miracles as everyone starts to fill the room. My parents walk in first and my mum gasps loudly as she sees our little girl. "Suprise!" Everyone let's out a small laugh as there shocked expressions turn into smiles. My mum comes to my side and immediately starts cooing over her grandchildren, taking my son out of my arms she cradles him in her embrace. Looking over at my father as he walks over to me kissing my cheek. "I'm so happy that there finally here" smiling I place my mini me in his arms and watch tears fill his eyes as he holds his granddaughter. "It's like holding you all over again, she looks exactly like you did. A carbon copy" he walks over to my mum and the both marvel in the similarities between us. While my son's did have Cain's blonde hair they had my eyes and nose. And I was happy about that. Even if they did look like Cain i would still love them and as far as I was concerned Gunner was there father not him.

Everyone else starts making remarks over how adorable they all are and how they can't wait to teach them new things. After a while Gunner notices how tired I'm getting and manages to get everyone to leave on the account that the babies and I needed to sleep. They each place a kiss on my forehead along with the little ones before filing out of the room.

Just when I'm about to sleep doc comes back in with another Moses basket for our daughter. "I know your tried and you can sleep but there's one more this you have to do first. The little ones need feeding"  doc wanted me to fed my daughter first since she was the tiniest and would need more regular feeding to help her gain weight. Doc coached me through the process and my little girl immediately latches on. Soon after the boys are fed too and they all fall asleep in there little beds.

Once Gunner and I are left alone again he lays down next to me, pulling me into his arms. "We have to name them now."

A/N

I decided on suprise triplets. It seemed the best way to accommodate what everyone wanted. Shout out to MonayAvery for the idea.

Now need name ideas.
