Only the noise of us creeping inside the vent could be heard because the whole school was quiet, one or two growls were heard but I doubt that was it.

So far, we haven't come across any zombie, why, because they can't climb a vent!

Am image of a zombie creeping in the vent pops into my head and I let out a short laugh.

"What's funny?" Ashley asks.

"Your butt" I snickered and I could feel her rolling her eyes, "Only you have a sense of humor in this situation"

I laugh again and shake my head, she is so right. Hold on....

"Where are we going to?" I asked and stop, we've just been moving inside the vent like large trained rats.

"Uh, the parking lot? I figured that's where we would leave the school building." Lilah says as we take a right.

That makes sense, I shrug and continue creeping.

Screams and snarling makes us to stop on our tracks, I looked ahead of me and see Lilah looking back at me.

We both know what was going on...... Their death wish was increased!

I felt bad for them, if they had just listened to me.

We continued creeping - God I'm so tired of saying that - and stopped for Lilah to unscrew a lid which am suggesting is our final bustop.

She jumps of the vent, next to Benita, Ashley and last to me. I didn't bother closing the vent.

No one was in sight, not even zombie. But there was blood. That doesn't means they won't come.

Ashley touches the metal handle of the back doors and opens it a little, it made a creaking sound.

"Come on, come on" she urged and Lilah scurried with Benita to the door I followed caused I didn't want to be the last one behind.

Ashley was, she closed the doors back. The back doors were hardly used, but if anyone was smart, they would come here.

"Okay, now we look for a car, and get the hell out of here" Ashley say and I frown.

"I wanted to be the leader!" I whine and she just rolled her eyes at me.

The parking lot was just at the left side, so if we were quick enough, we might just make it out of this hell hole.

I strolled through the cars and it looks as if I was buying one of them.

This one is to sleek.

Too small.

Too -

"Guys, I've found one!" Lilah shouts from my back and I turn to see her beside a brown Four wheelers car, she was holding the drivers door open.

"Quick get in!" Ashley picks up Benita and we ran to the car, she placed Benita in the back seat and jumps in to the front passenger seat.

I can tell she's paranoid about getting out of here, I got in the back seat and slammed my door closed.

We all had short 'breathe in and breathe out' before I came up with a question.

"What gonna drive this thing?"

Ashley looks at me and we both look at Benita but she looks at her sister instead.

"I can" Lilah says.

Wow this girl has skills..

We all put in our seat belts and Lilah puts in the car keys, the car roared to life and she steps on the pedal. The car jerked forward before she turned it a sharp right.

This noise made 3 zombies come out from the school and run after us, "Go go go go go!" Ashley shouts as Lilah drives past them but they kept on running after us.

I looked back and saw how close they were to us, one of them was moving very fast, faster than the other 2.

We could see the open gate in and I began to beam with happiness.

In a blink of an eye, a zombie appeared on Benita's window clawing and snarling at her.

We all let out a loud scream and since I couldn't do anything, I screamed the more.

Lilah swivlled the car left and right but it was still there, the zombie grabbed Benita's arm to bite but it flew of the window with force and rolled away.

I opened my eyes and they were filled with fear, shock, and....achievement?

I had just matched the zombie's face with my sneakers twice!

Lilah drove out of the school and we were out on the streets of NY, abandoned cars with broken glasses were parked everywhere. Corpses were littered everywhere, a smoke was coming out from a car on fire.

This was not our New York.

I looked away from the street and faced the car roof, is this what my life has become?

We couldn't see the school any longer, and it seemed we're the only ones on the road.

"Were do we go to?" Benita says and we all looked at her, this was the first time she was speaking.

I looked at Ashley to find her staring at me, we're going home.

She understands and faces front to tell Lilah our next stop and all I could think of was....

How to get this zombie blood of my shoes!
