there were many instances where taehyung acted differently. and noel wasn't oblivious to this observation. she could tell something had changed in their relationship.

while working in the coffee shop, taehyung and his group of friends walked in. a smile instantly appeared on her face as she would finally be able to talk to him since a week and a half ago when he stood her up.

most of the time, taehyung would go up and order all their drinks so he could talk to noel. but this time his friend walked up instead. her smile faltered a bit but not a lot considering it was jungkook.

her and jungkook were friends even before her and taehyung got together. they hadn't talked as much as before due to both of them being really busy. jungkook also attended the same college and majored in dance.

"hey kookie!" noel beams, using one of his nicknames also noticing his cute bunny smile spread across his face and shimmering doe eyes.

"hey el, how are you? it's been a while!" he responds using the nickname he made for her years back.

"i'm doing fine, how about yourself?" she replies.

"i'm quite good as well,"

"so, the usual for the group, right?" she says getting back to work.

"yes ma'am," he cheekily says.

"alright that will be $26." she says as he takes out his wallet. grabbing a $50, he hands it to her.

"while you're at it, make yourself something and keep the change el," saying this caused her to smile widely. she normally wouldn't take this money, but she knows that jungkook is very stubborn and won't take no as an answer.

"thank you kookie," she mumbles contently.

"of course," he said as he walked back to his table.

turning around, she starts on the seven drinks—eight including hers. after a bit of time, as she was the only one working today, she personally delivers the drinks to the group of young adults.

she sets down the drinks, while glancing at taehyung. a blank expression shown on his face, as he doesn't even spare her one glance.

the smile that was adorned on noel's face faltered a bit, but was immediately replaced as she saw namjoon stick french fries up his nose. where did he get the fries, she doesn't know.

they were a interesting bunch of kids, but nevertheless, brought a smile on noel's face.
