-Third Person POV-
Golfball was working on a new invention, mainly to pass the time until the next challenge was to be announced. Tennisball walked nearby and noticed what she was making.
"Hey Golfball, how's your day going?" He asked, walking towards her.
"Oh, hey TB," She paused what she was doing and turned to him, "It's been great! My new invention is nearly complete!"
"That's good. I can help you finish it-"
"I'm fine, TB. I don't need anything from you right now.."
Tennisball sighed and replied, "Okay.. I'll just wait over here then.."
Golfball returned her attention to the invention while Tennisball walked off in the other direction.
This was one of the first times she rejected his help, and he was confused about it. She always took his help, but why not now? Especially when it's nearly finished..
He tried to stop thinking about it. Thinking of it only made him a little sad. Though, what didn't help, was that he had a crush on her.
Tennisball loved Golfball for awhile now, but he tried to hide it from her. He wanted to confess at some point, but he never knew when would be the right time. Plus, Golfball didn't really seem to be the type of person to want to be in a romantic relationship, either-
"TB! I need you right now!" She yelled, interrupting his thoughts.
Tennisball nearly jumped from surprise, but he turned right around and started walking back to where Golfball was.
"I'm coming!"After getting there, she was standing next to a monitor that had an extension that would hook up to something. He started to get a little nervous.
"What did you want me for, exactly..?"
Golfball grabbed the extension, "Okay, this machine is meant to measure one's heart rate. I want to test it out on you to see if it works!"
Tennisball let Golfball hook him up to the machine, "O-Okay.. but what exactly is this for?-"
"J-Just stand still!"
She finished hooking him up to the machine and turned it on. The screen displayed a sort of line graph that updated every minute. It tracked the number of heart beats and computed the number into the graph. So far, the results looked normal.
"So.. it works.." Tennisball commented, watching the graph update.
"Good!" She looked back at him, "So.. uh.. I wanted to talk to you about something."
"Y-Yeah? What is it?"
"I don't know, it's something.. new I've been feeling around you."
Tennisball blushed, "A new.. feeling..?"
"Yeah.. it's like- Wait a second."
She looked over at the monitor, and when he did the same, he saw results were changing. It was spiking above the average BPM, a little faster than normal.
Tennisball looked back at Golfball,
"So.. uh.. w-what were you saying before?"Golfball focused on the results.
"Hm.. your heart rate seems to have increased. That's strange.."
"Y-Yeah.. very strange.." He lied, still looking at her.
When she finally turned to him again, he faked a confused look. She sighed and sat next to him, leading on his side slightly. His face heated up again.
She looked up at him.
"From the results, you seem to be very.. nervous.""..Yeah, I am.. can't ignore the data.."
"..Is it because of me?"
Tennisball internally panicked.
"I.. uh- Yeah.. it is.."
There was a moment of silence.
"Do you.. love me?"
Tennisball's face got even more heated.
"I.." He looked down at her, "I love you a lot."
She smiled.
"I.. I love you too.."Tennisball smiled as she snuggled in closer to him. The warmth from her body soothed him. He almost forgot about the world around him.
"Come on.. just kiss already.." A quiet whisper could barely be heard in the distance. It sounded familiar to the two lovers.
Tennisball looked over to where the sound came from, a tree and some bushes, confused.
"..Who was that?"
Golfball stood up, looking towards the plant arrangement. She got up, stepped over to it, and looked behind it..
The rest of A Better Name Than That was there, excluding Grassy, looking nervous and.. guilty. TV was displaying the words "TENGOLF!" in an alternating yellow and gray before soon switching to a plain black. Golfball gasped.
"Oh.. hey Golfball.." Basketball nervously greeted.
"We've been caught!" Robot Flower screamed, starting to run off.
Golfball's face showed anger and was red with embarrassment.
"YOU GUYS WERE WATCHING US?! GET OUT OF HERE YOU- YOU STALKERS!!"
She continued to yell at them as they tried to get away for their lives. Tennisball watched the scene with a smile on his face. He did think Golfball took the situation a little too violently, but that was the girl he fell in love with.
