We landed on this pile of ice and dust expecting to find something that would advance our scientific knowledge, but what we found was a piece of our past and a glimpse of our future.
Buried in the cold depth of the comet lied Soyuz2. Ivan Istochnikov was supposed to be a hoax, a 'Modern art exercice', but here, in this coffin of ice and dust, lied a mummified aberration of a cosmonaut.
More astonishing however was the state we found the dog in. Kloka was pretty much alive, but showing signs of mutations. We probably found the missing link.

This piece was writen for @ScienceFiction #SciFriday 4th challenge.
The concept of this challenge is to write a drabble, a short story in 100 words (excluding title).
The first sentence was imposed, up to the author to complete it. I set in bold the mandatory part.
