My hands shook as I dialed the number on my phone, I had been waiting for this opportunity for days, Dracula had left saying something about a 'date'. I didn't ask any questions, I didn't do anything that would upset him now he knew about emily "come on" I muttered looked at the door, I was petrified that he could return at any moment.

"hello?" the voice sounded groggy and weak, I had clearly woken dr van helsing up, this was hardly surprising considering it was nearly 2am.

"i need a favour" I got straight to the point "he knows about emily, you have to help me get her to safety" there was a scuffling over the line

"what do you want me to do?" she sounded wide awake now

"you know by helping me your risking your own safety" I explained

"yeah well its my fault he was back in the first place, so stop fretting and tell me what you need me to do" she said quickly, I thought I heard something strange in her voice, a slight accent.

"she's in paris" I stated quickly "he doesn't know that but I sent her there myself, get in contact with her, don't waist time trying to go there yourself just get a message to her to run"

"do you think he will go after her?"

I sighed "i don't know" I admitted "but he will try and use her against me so I need to make sure she is safe"

"okay" Van helsing assured me "I will talk a connection in paris and see what I can do, I will call you whe-"

"no!" I exclaimed "don't call me, I don't know if it'll be safe- i'm kind of living with him"

"Clara?!" she erupted "how?"

"well he didn't exactly give me a choice. Look I have to go, I don't know when he will return and if he finds out I've taken steps to try and conceal her again... well, I don't even want to think about it" I hung up abruptly. Had my heart been beating it would have been thumping out of my chest right then I was so scared.

I had to calm myself down, I walked over to the drinks cabinet and pulled out a glass and the decanter of blood only to forget the glass and neck the entire thing. When he returned I had to act normal; give him no reason to suspect I had done anything. I replaced my phone in my pocket and paced the room.

It was a few hours later when the front door finially opened and Dracula retured with his arm wrapped around the shoulders of a young beautiful girl.

"welcome to my humble home" he gestured around untill his hand landed in my direction "don't mind her, she's just my bride" he added

The girl eyes me warily "you have a wife?" she looked at him accusingly

"no" he replied "i have a bride, there is a difference, anyway miss westenra, last time I checked you were engaged so you cant take the moral high ground about cheating"

"that's true" she chuckled, but I couldn't help noticing that her eyes glanced over to me like I was a bad taste in her mouth

I saw my excuse to be away from Dracula for the night and made a show of rolling my eyes before saying "I will retire to the guest room tonight, I don't think we'll all fit in your bed"

Dracula chuckled "we can certainly try though" he winked in my direction but he knew I was not that sort of lady "you can take the girl out of the 19th century but you cant take the 19th century out of the girl" he sighed "goodnight Little one"

I quickly turned to leave "wait" he stopped me and stepped away from the beautiful girl, I froze. "do you not give your master a kiss goodnight?"

I rolled my eyes but with some relief I kissed his cheek before biding them both a goodnight.

Since living with Dracula I had gotten used to living by his hours, sleeping during the day and waking at night. but some days I made the most of the freedom that the daylight afforded me and hung around the aparment reading and enjoying some peace and quiet. Usually I would have the place to myelf, though Refeild would sometimes be around, the day after I had been displaced to the guest room I awoke to find lucy sneaking out of Dracula's room holding her heels and purse like she had just had a one night stand.

"going somewhere?" I enquired alerting  her to my presence for the first time, she gave a start "you can't sneak around a vampire, if he didnt want you to leave believe me he wouldnt let you" I added,

she straightened up and cleared her throat "tell him I'll call him" she stated and looking back at the bedroom door she smiled, I eyed her in fasination, did she enjoy his company? I noticed distinctive scar of a vampire bite on her neck. I had enjed his company  at first aswell, but I didnt know what he was, she does.

"be careful" I warned "you think you know what you want, but he will twist it and you'll find getting what you wanted will make you misrable"

she proudly held her head and looked at me with a venomious expression "you dont know me" she stated

"no, but I know him"

she didnt seem interested in talking to me after that, she simply left without another word. I rolled my eyes. "you wont sway that one" Dracula had appeared at his now open bedroom door with his arms crossed over his bare chest leaning against the door frame. "I've never met someone quite like her"

"am I to assume I am soon to be one of two brides" I pick up the book I had been reading of the table and place it back on the self. A part of me enjoyed walking in the sunlight whilst he was confined to the shade of his bedroom.

"my lady clara! Do I hear a note of jelousy in your tone?" amusement framed his features,

"not jelousy" I corrected "I just dont relish the idea of having to endure the company of a crazed girl for eternity"

"how do you know she wil be crazed? she could turn out like you" he suggested "only somewhat crazed" he added with a chuckle.

"I have seen how most of your victims end in the course of my reasearch and I am yet to see one who retained any humanity or sanity after they are turned, you and I are the only vampires in this world with the remotest sense of mentle stability and even you are quetionable on that front most of the time"

He gave out a mirthless laugh "tell me is it not the definition of insane to insult the man who holds your life so entirely within his grasp"

I shrugged and looked to the sunlit window "why dont you come teach me a lesson" my mouth formed a smirk.

"come here" he demanded with a sudden hungry look in his eyes, "I command it"

I didnt move "you'll have to try a lot harder then that" I pretended to be examining the spines of the books on the shelves. I heard him sigh

"i didnt sleep with her" he stated causing me to pause "shes not interested in that, she enjoys it when i bite her, when i send her mind away somewhere pleasent" he added

"why?"

"I dont know, I've never had somewhat let me bite them willingly before; she's fascinated by death, it remains the only great mystery left for her to discover"

"and you dont think she'll turn out crazy" I chuckled "that already sounds a little bit crazy to me"
