"Girl I'm tired of fucking moving" I spat packing another suitcase.

"Me too bitch, we better be moving somewhere nice too" Angel sadly spoke while packing her bags.

It seems like EVERYTIME we get comfortable at one house, it's time to pack again. My mom moved us from Tallahassee a while ago when she got sick and split from my dad. Now we were leaving our nice condo in a quiet, gated community with our grandma to move God knows where.

"Girl did you see what that nigga just posted?" Angel asked me alarmingly.

"What bitch? Let me see!" I snatched her phone.

It was Ryan's mugshot. My crazy ass ex that moved here thinking he could change my mind. Ryan is 6'5 with chocolate skin and beautiful white teeth and you better believe his cheating ass uses that to his advantage. He moved here one year after I did and got involved in the streets heavy. Don't get me wrong, that nigga can hold his own but when it comes to me, he's pussy. He's always blowing up my phone and I have him blocked but he just continues to text from various numbers. By the way , this nigga had a whole family he hid from me for 4 years. So he had to go.

I titled my head to the side with my eyebrow raised, " Well clearly he didn't post this because his sister in the comments saying he'll be home soon, first off. Second, that's his business at this point, we been done for two years." I tossed Angel's phone back in her lap.

"Girl he a dub." Angel smirked while locking her phone. We both paused, looked at each other and erupted in laughter in the backseat.

"What happened, I wanna laugh too." My mom turned the music down and looked through the mirror. "Nothing ma, these niggas is DUBS." Angel repeated. "Girl I could've told you that. But when you see it at my age, it's just sad." She turned the music back up.

"Girl here she go" Angel mocked. I burst out with laughter.

After stopping by Publix to get some chicken and other various items, we pulled into this gated apartment complex. Angel and I stopped eating and gazed at every aspect of the tan maze-like structure.

"Ugh I hope this shit not ghetto." I whispered to my sister and slapped my chips back into the grocery bag.

My mom slowly turned into the parking space into the leasing office and turned around to me and Angel.

"And if it is , you two are very smart young women whom I've raised to hold their own and do the right thing at all times. We won't be here long anyway. And another thing, you DON'T PAY SHIT so be thankful that you have a roof over your damn head." Her tone was calm and stern.

"I know ma, if it is that's not your fault anyway. I was just saying. But I understand." I said trying to lighten the mood. I knew I irritated her. At the same time I was thinking, "Shit, it's not our fault either." But I knew better. I knew how life worked for the most part, even at 17.
