Ever stub your toe on the side of your bed and just scream out your favourite words? Aww, DAMN it!! Well, this swear means a heck of a lot more in the times of grandpa and grandma, and their grandparents!
This word applies to almost every religion the related to or has a god. DAMN was the form of which a supreme power would banish someone or someone to hell or the underworld or wherever else. The souls of the DAMNED, and stuff like that.
So next time you spit out the word, you might want to think twice about DAMNING your couch to hell.
