To my surprise, the karaoke room was just as packed as the bar and dance floor.
Expecting the stage to hold a drunk idiot singing, there was a fairly handsome man who seemed totally sober. The crowd however, was filled with a lot of drunk people who were hyping him up while he sang a fun and upbeat song.
Out of instinct, I started dancing along to the song he was singing. He had the voice of a fucking angel and I was living for it.
But much to my dismay, the song ended too soon and it was someone else's turn. Quickly realizing nobody else had signed up, I dragged my tipsy-ass to the guy running the karaoke station and told him I wanted to sing. He was very kind and gave me a smile. He was also very handsome and by the way he stuttered when he talked, I could tell he was foreign.
"What song do you want to sing?" I thought for a minute, debating between two songs before deciding on a new song that had definitely earned its title in the kpop song hall of fame.
"Fancy by Twice," I told him, making him nod and ushering me up on the stage and to the mic. As I stood up there, I could hear chatter from below. When I looked down, I noticed it was the guy who had been singing up here before.
"I'm not worried. I've owned the title of karaoke champ here for years," I overheard him while the music started playing. "I bet she isn't even tha-"
I didn't have time to continue listening because my cue to sing had gone, so I started singing my heart out. Because I wasn't in the clearest state of mind, I had started using my horrible dance moves to go along with the song. The audience seemed to love my singing anyways, though.
When I got to the chorus, colored strobe lights started playing as I sang the famous, "Fancy~ You~ ooohh~"
Although I probably looked like an idiot while attempting to dance, I was having fun— and I could tell the audience was too just by their energy.
I don't know if it was my hazy brain or real life, but performing up there made me feel like a celebrity at my own concert. Then again, I've never performed in front of a crowd before.
Before I knew it, the song was over. There were loud cheers and claps coming from the people watching but my eyes only fixed on the man who sang prior to me.
"Oh hell, she's good." I made out. With a giggle, I stumbled off stage and walked up to him.
"Heard you liked it?" I suddenly said, making him jump and turn around to face me. He gave me a sheepish smile and nodded.
"You did really well. I'm Junhui, by the way! Call me Jun,"
"I'm Dior! Nice to meet you," Jun gave me a smile as we started to have a mini conversation.
"Did you drink tonight?" He suddenly asked, earning a shrug from me.
"Just a lil'~" I answered, slurring a little as I did so.
"How do you sing so well while not sober?" I shrugged again.
"Just do it man!" Jun laughed softly at my comment. "I need to go find my friend and go hooommmeee~ or my sister will kill me," I pouted.
"Alright," He said with a nod. "are you gonna start coming here often?" I cringed a bit at the question, thinking of earlier and laughed a bit.
"If the bartender keeps asking me to go to church with him, then I suppose I will." With a wave, I made my way out the door of the karaoke room and back into the bar and dance floor.
Seeing Jeonghan serving drinks with the softest smile gave me clear skin— I stan.
With a giggle, I ran up towards the bar and sat down at a different stool than before, the first one now being occupied by a middle–aged man who was living his best life.
"Jeongghhhaaannn!" I called him, making him turn to me with a hum.
"Yes deeeeaaaarrr?"
"Do you know where Lennon is?" I pouted.
"The girl you were with earlier?" Jeonghan asked with a tilt of his head, pouring a beer for another guy. I nodded. Jeonghan's eyes searched the crowd until they lit up, indicating he found something. "She's dancing with that Dino kid,"
I quickly turned to check it out, realizing that she was indeed still dancing with Chan.
"Isn't his name Chan?" I asked, sounding dumb.
"Ah yes, Jeonghan's baby Chan," He said with a chuckle before we were so rUdElY interrupted by the guy Jeonghan had poured a beer for earlier.
"Hannie, can I please have another?" The man was making a puppy face as he held his glass towards Jeonghan which earned a sigh from the smaller male.
"Wonu, this would be your eighth glass. I think you've had enough for tonight," He sighed and leaned forward towards the dark haired male. "and I scheduled your appointment for Alcohol Anonymous."
"You make me sound like a bad guy! I take pride in my alcoholism!" Jeonghan just shook his head at the man.
"I can't give you any more, Wonwoo. It's for your own good. And you definitely will not take pride of your alcoholism in the morning when you're suffering from this hangover," I giggled at the feminine male's remark before drawing his attention back to me.
"What times does Joshua work?" I asked, blinking at him aggressively.
"Uhh.. weekdays 5:30-12:30— he starts and leaves an hour earlier than me. Why do you ask?" I shrugged and drew invisible shapes on the counter with my fingertip.
"Told someone I'd come here as long as the bartender asked me to go to church with him," Jeonghan suddenly started laughing— a lot.
"You're going to be here every night, then. Hope you don't have too many commitments~"
