When I was younger, before they walked and trotted and trampled on the earth, I was once taught of the concept of forever. Forever was a good thing, but it could also be something terrible and unforeseen. But with all the knowledge I have and don't have and with all the things you've shown me I think you could shed light on what it would be like for a forever spent with you.

And if anyone asks me for what I believe in I'll tell them you're my religion, and I'll defend my faith even if what it takes is to go down swinging because it seems I'm the last of my kind with memories in my mind but I'd throw them all away for your sake because I know you'll keep singing my song even if I don't belong in the world of burning eyes anymore. 

And, oh, darling, I've never seen you cry but I know you do it sometimes and I'd like to tell you there's no need for you to say we're meant to be, because I love you just enough to be okay even if you don't love me. But you know, I'll still stay by your side because your presence brings back hope in my eyes and maybe the reason I can't go is because I've never been taught how to quit.

Because you're my everything and you are my light, and despite circumstance I'd love to wake up to you in the mornings and to fall into slumber pressed to you at night.
