Zurui's POV:
As I turned on her heel to go round a corner I almost slammed into Hige, and accompanying him was the chosen white wolf-both here clearly for only one reason. To find Cheza and open paradise.
My hackles and tail stood upward and stiff as I viciously snarled at the pair of them, "Cheza was not made for you," I spat, my face twisting with rage.
Suddenly, from down the corridor I heard a commotion.
"That big dog has escaped! Find it!".
"I heard growling down the hall!".
And with that I fled, Hige and the white wolf running away down a different corridor.
Escaping down on alleyway I found the red wolf pup chewing on garbage, "oh hey miss! Nice to see you again," he grinned as he pushed some of the scraps over to me, "want some?" he offered kindly.
"Well it's not quite fine dining but food's food I guess," I said before I buried my snout in the food, picking at bones that were almost licked clean.
"What happened to you since we last met, you look like you've been hurt-bad," he emphasised.
"I got in a fight with this grey wolf," I explained.
"Oh that's Tsume! I've never met him but I've seen him around, his gang is always following around after him," the red wolf answered with delight as he chewed on stale bread, "my name's Toboe," he smiled, he had an innocent look to his wide doe eyes.
It was nice of Toboe to offer me for what should've been entirely his own food, so I decided to go with pleasantries instead of my usual sarcasm, "that's a lovely name. I'm Zurui."
Suddenly Toboe's ears perked up, I switched my attention to where he was staring and saw a young girl with long black hair carrying a laden bag of groceries.
"That's the girl that gave me some food!" he chirped up excitedly, he bolted towards her with bounding leaps as he projected his short, scrawny human illusion onto her-a rather effeminate face framed by reddish curls that were parted in the middle, and big saucer like eyes the colour of golden brown. He wore a red plaid shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, baggy green trousers and black combat boots.
I followed after him, to keep him out of trouble. Like I said I have a soft spot for pups.
"Who's your friend?" the girl asked in a soft, mousy voice.
"Oh, this is Zurui!" he blurted out excitedly, "and Zurui this is Leara!" he explained.
We followed Leara back to her small home that backed onto a rare patch of greenery and tombs that made up the graveyard. She whistled out and a falcon swooped down, landing on her shoulder as it cried out in a defiant squawk.
"This is my bird," she smiled cheerfully, she threw a small, dead pink mouse into the air and the bird caught it quickly before returning to her.
She continued playing with it till dusk fell, before she put it in its cage for the night she decided to let it have one last flight, it launched herself from her arm and flew far away.
