Fire and Flame

Chapter 1

"Come on! hurry up!" Shouted Lillo

"I'm coming! I'm coming! Calm down!" Bethany replied. She grabbed her big light blue bag covered in pink flower print while racing out the door. She had put her long, brown hair into two buns on top of her head with two thin groups of hair cascading down her face.

"We're going to be late! Lets go!" exclaimed Lillo. and they raced off to school.

The school was only a 5 minute walk from Bethany's house. And 5 minutes 11.6 seconds from Lillo's. They where next door neighbors. Once they reached the school they walked through the big black gates with the words 'Limphia Secondary School' in mossy, golden iron through the top of the gate. It was an old school. The bricks where an old, brownish-red colour, and the benches out front had chips and spikes of wood coming out of them. They walked through the big red doors and they where in the school. About 268 children went to that big old school. About 100 of them walking through the busy hallways.

The head mistress, Miss James, was a mean old woman. So mean, that she gave you detention if you didn't say

"Good morning Miss!" or

"Good afternoon Miss!" when you saw her. She claims she's only 43 but looks about the age of 79. So most people think she's lying. She has ginger-brown like coloured hair and it was really curly. A little too curly, She always wore black. Never any other color. Just black. Well, in school. But nobody ever saw her outside of it. Some people wondered if she lived in the school!

As Lillo and Bethany walked in to their form class the teacher looked at them dead in the eyes and said

"Good morning girls! And, may I ask, why are you 2 minutes late?!" She was a strict lady with short black hair. She always wore makeup to cover up her old wrinkly face. The girls where very 'smart' so to this they replied with

"No, you may not Miss Huff." to which the teacher gasped and grunted

"Sit down! Now! And don't make a sound! Is that clear?!" the girls went and sat down without answering.

"Well! Answer the question! Is that clear?" the girls once again. Didn't answer.

"Say something! Why are you not answering?! That's it! Detention for both of you!!"

"But Miss. You can't give us detention for listening to you?" replied Lillo

"Listening to me?! You where hardly listening to me! You weren't answering for heavens sake!"

"But Miss Huff, you told us to not make a sound. And so, we didn't." said Bethany. Miss Huff gasped again.

"Fine! No detention for Christs sake! Stupid child!" Miss Huff exclaimed. To which she then muttered quietly

"So smart! I need to think of some better things to say to these girls!"

"Students one, teacher zero." said Lillo to her friend, Addison.

Addison now, was very smart. But that was with maths questions and words, things like that. Not smart like Lillo and Bethany. She had blonde hair. She was a beautiful girl. But she was also a very quiet, and sad girl, because, well. She gets used a lot. By guys. The popular guys in school will ask her out, get her to basically do heir homework and get good grades on exams, and then its bye bye Addison.

Miss Huff took the register and the bell went 5 minutes later. So all at once, all at the same time, all the students in the classroom stood up, grabbed their bags and put them on their backs, pushed their chairs in, and walked out the door,
