CHAPTER TWO
MOM AND DAD ARE DAD

Rachel went through the extra trouble of helping Angelina get home. Driving her home, sneaking her back in, and ultimately apologizing when they were both caught by her father. God, how Angelina wanted to curl into herself when she realized her late-night adventure was figured out... probably way sooner than she even realized.

That led her to this moment right now. Sitting half hunched at her dinner table, picking at her breakfast, and listening to her parents scold her about sneaking and staying out late.

"I don't know what you were thinking but that was incredibly irresponsible of you. Do you know how worried me and your mother were when we saw you weren't in your room?!" Her father scolded in a harsh tone. "What were you even doing out?" Angelina swallowed thickly. "I went to a concert." She answered quietly. "A concert?! In the middle of the night?! Where was this 'concert'?" Her father scoffed. Angelina didn't answer this time, simply staring down at her plate and picking harder at her eggs. "Answer me." Her father sternly told her. She sighed and gave him a glance. "The mill." Angelina hesitatingly answered.

"The mill! Honey do you know what kind of people hang out there!" Her mother gasped. "People that drink, that smoke, do drugs, there are people there that will do horrible things to you." "You worried me and your mother. Don't think that this will go without punishment. No going out with your friends and no having them come over past four. You will be focusing more on yourself and your school work." "Papà Rachel has nothing to do with this... and anyways my grades are fine! I'm getting straight A's." Angelina complained, letting her fork drop onto her plate.

"Angelina Ginevra Fiorelli, you will not talk to me and your mother like that!" Her father snapped at her. "You did something you weren't supposed to and now you'll face your consequences. Do you understand?" Angelina picked her fork back up and grumpily chewed on her cold eggs. "...I understand."

Mumbling lines quietly under her breath Angelina parked her bike. Hopping off she made sure to grab her bike lock, attaching it securly before giving it a firm tug. With her bike now in place she reached over into the metal basket in front of her bike, pulling out her bag and a jacket. Just then though she felt something wrap around her arms. The feeling making her tense up before her head snapped around to see who had grabbed her.

To her surprise it was Heather, seemingly happy to see her by the smile on her face. Her mouth moved quickly but with the music playing in Angelina's ears it was hard for her to make out what was being said. "Sorry. I can't hear you." Angelina said, tugging her earbuds out and letting them fall down to her collarbones. "Don't worry about it, it's not that important." Heather waved her off, her arm remained around her shoulder but she started to walk forcing Angelina to go with her.

"You know, it was pretty cool to hang out with you at that concert." Angelina nodded along a bit. "Yeah, but we barely even spoke." She said. "You aren't supposed to talk at a concert like that! Anyways we should totally hang out again sometime, I know Chloe definetly wouldn't mind." Heather added with a bit of a smile, her eyebrows wiggling slightly as if she had mentioned something and Angelina should know what it meant. "What wouldn't I mind?"

Angelina looked back over her shoulder watching along with Heather as Chloe jogged up the stairs to catch up with her friend. Heather lowered her arm and half way turned around. "Oh I was just saying how Angelina should hang out with us sometime." Chloe didn't actually seem as taken aback as Angelina was expecting her to be, but then again Chloe didn't really act the way she was expecting from the beginning. Back at the mill she had stood up for her against those creepy guys and now that she was really thinking about it she didn't really know that much about her besides what she's heard from her friends and a few others around the school. "Doesn't sound bad to me." Chloe utimatley shrugged.

"I, uh, I really appreciate it but I'm kinda in trouble right now." Angelina sheepishly mentioned. Chloe raised her eyebrow at her. "How did you get into trouble? Aren't you like... perfect or something." With an awkward smile and a tingly feeling running over her face Angelina shrugged. "I don't know if I'd say I'm perfect. But, I'm not supposed to stay out past four unless it's for school." Heather and Chloe seemed shocked by that news, and that was not surprising. She was shocked herself when she heard of her punishment.

"The hell?" Heather gasped." "Four? That's so early... what did you do?" Chloe asked her. "My parent's weren't happy I went out to that concert." Angelina shrugged. "Geez, and I thought Aunt Susan was tough." Heather scoffed before crossing her arms over her chest.

"Hey, Chloe." The three girls turned back in unison, even though the call was not meant for them all. Angelina recognized the guy, Eliot, they shared a chemistry class and a few others if she remembered correctly. They weren't really friends, they never even really talked outside of class. "Oh, hey Eliot." Chloe greeted. "He's really into Chlo." Heather whispered to Angelina. "Wait, what happened to your face? Do you need to go to the nurse or something?" Eliot asked noticing the obvious bruise on Chloe's face. "What, this? You should see the other guy." Chloe said waving his concern off.

"Guess it's true then. I heard you two had a hell of a night." Eliot said pointing his finger between Chloe and Heather. "I mean, people are talking about it." That made Angelina tense up a bit. People at school were already talking about last night? I guess it wasn't that surprising, new travelled quickly here and Angelina was sure other students had showed up. He wasn't implying they were talking about her... at least she hoped he wasn't. Heather in response let out an audible groan, tossing her head back in dramatics. "God people are so nosy!" She whined. "People can eat a dick. Even social media haters can't ruin how awesome last night was." Chloe added.

Eliot nodded awkwardly. "So how about The Temptest... Blackwell Theater at its most pretentious." He was quick to change the subject. "Yeah, totally." Chloe jerked her head with a small chuckle. Angelina's face scrunched at the comment. They weren't... ok well they weren't THAT pretentious. She didn't think so at least. "I know it's gonna be lame, but I was thinking... do you want to go together tomorrow?" Eliot suggested. Oh. Heather was right. He was into Chloe.

It was obvious to at least Angelina that he was asking her out. Like out on a date. With the way he worded it to how he didn't even give a thought to the other two girls standing right next to them. It was clear that he wanted this to be a date. Heather seemed to be in agreeance with the way she nudged Angelina. "I try to make it a rule not to go to school any more than I have to. But sitting in the back row and making fun of the drama kids might not suck" Chloe said. She was either totally oblivious or was letting him down gently. "Right? That's totally what I was thinking." Eliot nodded, trying not to show his disappointment too much on his face. "Alright, see you in chem." Chloe waved at Eliot before turning around to walk towards the school once again. "Yeah, for sure!"

Heather turned around to join Chloe and Angelina followed suit. Not before giving Chloe a shove as gently as she could muster. Chloe's head snapped towards her and she seemed surprised. "What the hell was that for?!" She asked. "If you forgot I'm apart of that pretentious group you were making fun of five seconds ago. The one that's going to embarrass themselves on stage." Angelina pouted at her. Chloe scoffed a bit before patting her on the shoulder. "Yeah, you have to admit it's all pretentious. But compared to those other losers you're pretty cool."
