the dining hall had been decorated for the occasion. balloons had been tied to chairs, the pastel blue complimenting the shining silver streams gently swaying from the breeze. the room was spotless; there wasn't a speck of dirt to be found. a small, elevated, wooden platform had been set up towards the front. luce stood on top of it, surveying the area as she ran through a mental checklist in her head.
an empty plate had been placed in front of each seat, perfect for the meal chinsun was preparing in the kitchen. tantalizing scents drifted from said room into the dining hall. luce exhaled. the food would come soon enough.
she sat down on the edge of the stage, twisting a lock of hair around her finger as she waited for the others to arrive. the counselors were all supposed to be here by now, and she had no idea where harin was. the campers were due to arrive any moment.
speaking of, the sound of the door opening startled luce, causing her to jump a bit in surprise. nonetheless, she regained her composure and stood again, smiling at the person who'd just arrived.
