Harry and Hermione: A Different Beginning

Chapter 1

"Get in there you stupid kid!" Uncle Vernon said after they got home from the zoo, where Harry had magically broken the glass.  Harry could do nothing, he was just locked in the cupboard under the stairs, until someone would unlock the door, so he could cook breakfast.

"Harry, Harry." Hermione called.  Harry liked Hermione, she was his only friend. They were basically the same, because Hermione did not have any friends except for him. When Harry's aunt, uncle and Dudley weren't there, he would sneak out and go to Hermione's house which was only a few houses down the street.

"Harry lets get out of here." Hermione said. Harry responded and said "I don't want to get caught, imagine what they would do to me if they catch me.

" Don't worry just stay with us, my parents treat you like their own son, and if they find out that your so called "family" is treating you Badly, they would let you stay.  "Ok then" Harry said, as he started to pack what ever belongings he had, and they secretly left the house.

"HERMIONE JEAN GRANGER! Where have you been?, me and your father were worried sick." yelled Emma, Hermione's mum.
"Mum, Dad we need to talk about Harry." Hermione said.

"Oh, Harry if we had just known that you were treated like that we should have taken you in earlier." Dan said.

Hermione's POV

Harry I'll take you to your room, come on, I told him as I took his hand. So here Harry is your new room. "WOW!" Harry said, this room is so bigger than the cupboard below the stairs at my aunts house.  I hugged Harry and told him that he was welcome here in my house. From that moment on, I looked to him like he was my brother.

Harry's POV

Thank You, Hermione for letting me stay here! I told Hermione as I hugged her.
"Kids time for dinner!" Hermione's mom called.
"Mr and Mrs. Granger thank you for letting me stay here, I hope it's ok to you that I stay here."
"Harry you can call us Mum, dad, Emma, or Dan if you would like. You are always welcome in this house Harry."  
" Soon we will fix the papers so we can become your legal guardians."
"Oh thank You MUM, and also thank you Hermione for rescuing me from the Dursley's.
I enjoyed my dinner of  pizza and pasta, it was one of the most delicious food I've ever tasted, while at the Dursley's I would only get leftovers or nothing.

3rd Person POV

Harry and Hermione spent the night playing board games and watching Spongebob until it was time for bed.

Hermione's POV:

"Good night Harry ",I told him as he got settled in his bed in his new room. I went back to my room went under the blankets and drifted off to sleep.
Sometime in the night I heard knocking on my door, it was Harry. "Uh, Hermione, I can't sleep, because I'm scared of the dark."
I told Harry that he could sleep in my room. He insisted on sleeping on the floor, but I told him to just get in bed beside me, as I didn't have a sleeping bag.

Harry's POV: I got hesitant at first to sleep in the same bed with Hermione, but I agreed anyway better than sleeping alone. I got into the covers, this was the best bed I've ever slept in, so soft. Goodnight Hermione I told her, I was so sleepy I went to sleep.

Hermione's POV: Goodnight Harry I told him. I couldn't believe that my best friend was living with me now. Anyway, I just went back to sleep.
