"Katsuki!" The nagging yelp of his mother pulled him out of a nightmare that had left him in a pool of his own sweat. It was almost annoying that he couldn't remember anything about the nightmare that had troubled him other than green eyes staring sullenly in his direction throughout most of the dream. Another yowl from his increasingly agitated mother caused him to shake his head and slide out of bed with a wordless grumble.

"I'm coming, I'm coming!" He complained loudly as he grudgingly slipped on his school uniform and forcefully made his way down the stairs. When he reached the base of the stairs he could feel his mother's piercing gaze meet him from within the kitchen. The dusty blonde turned his head to meet his mother's gaze, the frail yet powerful woman holding out a bag with unknown contents in his direction. He rolled his eyes and walked forwards towards her before snatching the bag out of her hands and looking within. He scanned over the bag's contents and could see it was a different array of homemade foods his mother felt confident in making. "Hell's this?" He questioned simply as he closed the bag and looked back up at his mother.

"I need you to drop that off at the Midoriya household, you know Inko is a close friend of mine, and she's been dealing with a lot of sadness since..." She trailed off and looked over Katsuki with sullen eyes before letting out a sigh. "Nevermind, just do what I ask to make up for yelling at me yesterday." She teased only to get an annoyed huff from Katsuki as he moved into the kitchen. His mother had a simple plate of eggs and rice out for him which he thankfully had time to gobble up before heading out the door in the direction of the Midoriya residence.

Inko dealing with sadness? He had known her as one of the most genuine and happy people he had known back in his younger days, had that changed? Did her sadness have anything to do with why Deku had been so early to the classroom yesterday? Why did he care? Questions slowly trailed across his mind as he walked in the darkness of the early morning. Everything was a bit too quiet as he traversed the short distance between his house and the Midoriya's apartment complex, there were no birds singing or crickets chirping- it just seemed dead. The thoughts seemed to stop rolling when he reached the door of the Midoriya's apartment. His hand reached to ring the doorbell before he caught a glance of his watch on the hand holding the bag. 6:08 am... Jesus, his mother was really an idiot if she thought this was a sane time to deliver gifts. He rolled his eyes and decided it best not to ring the doorbell, instead, he took to leaving the bag in front of her door which she or deku would find sometime later in the day.

He wasn't particularly excited to get to school but it seemed like another early morning in the vacant classroom would be his experience yet again. He was already dressed and ready and didn't particularly want to explain to his mother how her 'kindness' so early in the morning wouldn't have exactly been appreciated. After having silently made the decision to begin his trip to school he made his way down the familiar path he would take every school day morning. As he passed the playground he used to frequent as a child memories of he and his old pals flashed through his mind like a presentation, memories of Deku chasing after him- doing whatever he had asked of him. He let out a sigh and stopped in front of the entrance of the playground subconsciously as if his legs had stopped working. He clenched his fists as he looked over the playground which at one point brought him simple happiness and now seemed to be filled with a lingering sadness within the silent darkness he found himself.

The barking of a dog called his attention off of the playground and towards the area with a jungle gym. A golden dog was barking up towards the top of the jungle gym where a frail greenette sat looking down at the dog with clouded, almost soulless, eyes. He hadn't felt anything as his eyes rested upon the sight or as he watched Deku let a soft smile stretched across his face as the dog continued barking. He listened to the boy as he opened his mouth and spoke soothing words to the dog who tilted its head in confusion. Katsuki let out a soundless gasp as he released the breath he had been holding. Why couldn't he move or say anything as the greenette slowly turned his gaze in his direction? He met eyes with the freckled greenette who gently rested his head on his hand as his moppy head of hair fell gently over his knees and fingers. The boy still held his soft smile as he let out a kind but soft voice in his direction that Katsuki was surprised he could hear from his distance from him. "Kacchan.~"
