The rain began pelting down as I took the shopping from the car. As I made a run for the house with the grocery bags in my arms, the rain began melting the paper bags and before I knew it the shopping was on the floor.

I screamed for my husband Mike to come and help me. I looked up at the house as I scrambled to pick up the shopping from the floor. My husband just stood by the porch shrugging his shoulders.

"I think you got it, love. There's no point in the two of us getting wet, " said Mike as he squirmed and winched at the sight of the rain.

"Good for nothing bastard," I thought to myself, "

I could feel the rain start to soak through my clothes. As I tried to grab what shopping I could a pair of leather boots appeared in front of me.

"May I help you," said a voice from above. I slowly looked up following the man's long lanky legs up towards where the voice was coming from. I was greeted by an older gentleman in a suit fit for an undertaker. He was bald-headed with thin lips and he had dark circles around his eyes.

I stood up to greet him and put my hand out to shake his. He was a strange man, but there was something about an, an almost calming presence radiating from him.

"You're heavily burdened aren't you, my dear." I looked down at shopping on the floor. Well, it's only a small bit of shopping, no big deal, " I laughed.

The man looked at me with a faint smile, "I don't mean the groceries," he said as he looked back at the house.

Something inside me wanted to break down and tell him everything. But as he looked deep into my eyes I could swear he already knew. It was like he knew my deepest desires.

He leaned in close and whispered in my ear. As he did a surreal feeling washed over me and when I came back to my senses I was waving the man goodbye. And I couldn't remember what he whispered to me.

When I got inside the house Mike was angry with me. He raised his hand to hit me, but something stopped him.

"I'll fucking deal you later, " he bellowed as he disappeared upstairs.

Later that night as Mike laid in the tub. I sat their day-dreaming of a better life. All of a sudden the words the man had whispered in my ear was all I could think about.

"You can have anything you desire. All you have to do is kill your husband.

The words floated around my head and before I knew it I was standing over my husband while he was lying in the tub. The music was blaring from the stereo he had plugged in sitting next to him

I picked up the stereo.

"How many times do I have to tell you it's fucking dangerous to keep things plugged in while in the tub.," I screamed as I tossed the stereo into the bathtub.

Weeks passed and my husband's death was put down to tragic circumstances and I was able to collect a massive check from his life insurance.

Life was going great. Everything I desired in life came to fulfil. I had even found love again and got to marry the most perfect man a woman could ask for.

A few years had ticked by and I found myself sitting in the kitchen waiting for my husband to bring in the groceries from the car. He was taking his time and when I walked outside, I was shocked to find some man whispering in his ear.

The tall man dressed like an undertaker looked familiar. My husband waved the man goodbye. And came back to the house.

"What did he whisper in your ear," I asked?

My husband looked at me.

"For the life of me, I can't remember."
