A groan escaped my lips as I got smacked with the bow staff across my back, stumbling forward. No doubt there would be a red mark where Astor had hit me. "Something is bothering you today." I looked back at him. "Nothing is bothering me. I'm fine." Kai. I was worried about kai. I haven't heard from him since he left to meet the queen. Nore has Astor. "Then perhaps we should continue." He eyed me like he could tell I was lying. I prepared myself, Holding my staff in a defensive position. I couldn't help but keep wondering about kai though. I wonder if the Queen-

"Owch! Son of a bitch!" It came out as a growl as I jumped away, dropping my staff in surprise as I reached my hand to hold over my no doubt to be a bruised temple. I think I felt blood. "By the fucking stars Astor! Did you have to hit so hard?" I heard him snort as he let one end of the staff hit the floor, his hands resting at the other in front of his chest. I shot a glare at him as his eyes locked with mine. His face cool and calm. "Spit it out, little human. What's keeping you at the length of a solar system from me today?" I sighed and started wiping the blood from my new cut. "It's Kai. I'm worried about him." I guess there was no point in pretending. "The queen demanded his presence, and with you not hearing from him, I'm wondering if he's alright."

He nodded and sighed. "Unfortunately that is a concern that we cannot address at this moment." I frowned, looking around the room. As if someone could have entered without either of us noticing. What if Tristan did something to Kai? If he did something to my friend, he would be in for a world of hurt. "I know." I looked back to Astor to see him studying me. "That isn't the only thing you are concerned with though. Is it?" I met his eyes. "I'm also worried about Tristan poking around." I took a deep breath, worry continuing to fill me. " I feel like he may have something to do with Kai turning up missing. He seemed pretty determined to get answers when he visited me yesterday. He made no secret of his distaste for Kai either."

As soon as the words left my lips I stiffened. What if Tristan went after Kai and exposed him? A heavy sigh from Astor trailed my eyes back to him. "I will see what I can find out about him." He had barely finished the sentence when he raised his staff and again swung at me. Only this time I saw it coming and managed to deflect it. We spent a few more minutes like that. Just going through motions and practice until it was finally time to leave.

ASTOR

I left her to her meal, deciding to go to find my underling. Her anxiety over the matter is quit distasteful, and truth be told, I have also grown concerned over his disappearance. I made my way quickly through the halls and corridors of the ship to find his quarters. All of his personals were as it should be. Only he was nowhere to be found. I began going through his belongings. looking for hints as of to his whereabouts.

I found his personal tablet, in which he kept his thoughts. Though I had to work on breaking into the mini device that always remained separate from the ships' computer. I never understood why he did this, but I was grateful for his strang habits as I looked through the text. I found the most recent, dated on the day of his disappearance.

⦁ The commander, in which my human friend has come to call Tristan, has been suspicious of me. I must be careful of my activity. If I am caught working for our departure, the queen will not only have my life but the life of my commander. Along with his human female. After all, A queen never forgets to spite those who betray her. Even by the means of something so petty as taking the life of the human under him. I have to leave soon. Tristan is becoming suspicious of me. Even over something as simple as tardiness. The distasteful male's paranoia is unfortunately what gives him his place on this hive.
