Astor didn't return for several hours and I began to wonder if I scared him off. I even began to quietly doze off, again, laying on his bed. I probably should break myself out of this habit, but his bed was so much comfier than mine. Mine was like sleeping on the sand. So yeah, I made my choice for the evening. I didn't care. I could always move if he wanted me to. My mind began to drift, half awake, half asleep. Drifting as I thought about Earth. About the last time, I saw my mother and how very young I was when I came to this galaxy.

Mommy Said we were going to a secret place. The Secret Place where she worked and we would get to see strange new people. She said we were going to another world. To meet people called the Nox. She says I have to keep it a secret though. That I can't tell my friends or anyone. I didn't understand why it had to stay a secret, but I won't tell.

Mommy said she had to talk to the general and told me to wait in the hall. I watched as a very big man with black hair came up to me. He had a yellow shiny oval in the middle of his forehead and it had a really pretty design on it. "Hello, Mr. I'm Amya, What's your name?" He looked down at me and raised his eyebrows. "Hello, little one. I am Teal'c. What is it you are doing here?" I smiled as he lowered himself on one knee. "It's my birthday and mommy says she's going to take me to see some people called the Nox."

He had a very deep voice. And he talked kinda funny. "Well, happy Birthday little Amya. I'm sure you will enjoy spending the day with them." I smiled at the idea of meeting them now. "Say, why do you have a gold oval on your forehead?" He sat down on the floor next to me, and I decided to sit with him. "It is the mark of Apophis, the Egyptian god of the moon. There is a race called the Goa'uld, who have taken on the identities of the Egyptian gods." "Are you a Goa'uld?" He shook his head. "No. Goa'uld is evil. They kill any who do not worship them and take any and all technology for their own. Anything else is destroyed."

"So why do you have Apophis's mark? You're not like that at all."He smiled, though he seemed to be uncomfortable for some reason. " I am of a people called the Jaffa. Enslaved by the Goa'uld for the purpose of serving them. I, however, am free. And now I stay here on earth fighting for the freedom of my people from these false gods." I looked around, seeing only a few soldiers in the hall. "What does a Gua'oul look like? Do they look like us?" Before Teal'c could answer, the door opened and he stood. "Lt. smart. It is a pleasure to see you again." He spoke and mommy smiled, nodding her head. "Hello, again Teal'c. I see you've met my daughter."

He nodded and smiled at me. "Indeed. She likes to ask a great many questions. A trait that I in fact wish more of my own people would have." Mommy laughed lightly, nodding. "Do jaffa not know how to ask questions?" I asked, only getting a louder laugh from mommy. "That's not what Teal'c meant honey." I was confused now. "Well, I've informed the general of our plans and they are going to dial the StarGate for us." I smiled and squealed happily. "Yay! Time to meet the Nox!"

Mommy smiled as she came and picked me up. "Yes, It's time to meet the Nox!" I couldn't help but giggle. I didn't know what was special about the Nox. but mommy said they could do tricks that I would like so I was excited. She carried me through the halls and Teal'c followed us all the way to a big room with a big ring of stone against the wall. The ring had pretty pictures all along with it. "Mommy, what's that stone ring?" I didn't look at her. I was trying to remember the pictures so I could draw them later. But there was just so many. "That's the StarGate. It can take us to planets all across the galaxy."

"Wow! So, it's a magical portal?" I squealed excitedly in question.

My mother laughed as many of the men and women around us looked at me at my question and smiled. "Sort of, in a more scientific manner." She put me down and held my hand as the door shut. "Dail the gate General. We're ready." I heard my mommy say and loud sounds began as lights flashed on the ceilings and the magical portal started glowing and spinning. "Chevron one encoded!" A man yells as a triangle glows a pretty orange. I watch the lights, captivated by them. "Chevron Two encoded!" As another triangle lit up and my excitement grew.
