Nestor had been working like a dog with the other security personnel on the team to bring home the cartel prince. Reviewing surveillance and satellite pictures trying to get a pin on the Los Olvidados location. The silence in the room was broken when Nestor's phone began to ring abruptly, stepping away from the group he answered. After quickly noticing the caller ID Nestor skipped all formalities and went straight into it, "What did you find?" there was a slight laugh on the other end. "Nice to talk to you too man," his friend responded. "Sorry Jason, things have been insane here so I don't have a ton of time to be on the phone."
"It is all good Nest, I was just giving you a hard time. So Ruby had a pretty basic childhood, prior to graduating highschool she pursued a degree in child psychology with the focus on grief counseling."
Nestor rolled his eyes before commenting, "Dude, I know this. Is all your information just a regular background check?"
"My good friend not at all, patience. I read one of her college counselor's notes, apparently the reason Ruby originally went into that field was because she had to watch her father get killed. Doesn't go into too much detail on her dad and his murder though. After finishing college, though she started working as a nanny for a Jackson Teller. He was a member of the Sons of Anarchy, there are a couple police reports involving Ruby due to her ties to the SOA. I'm just going to email all of her files over to you." Jason finally finished.
"Thanks man, what do I owe you?" Nestor responded.
"Nothing, this one was on the house. Her files do get interesting man, did you say she worked with you?"
"She does, Jason I've got to get going but I appreciate you doing that for me." The two said their goodbyes before hanging up and getting on with their days.

Later that evening in the private of his own room Nestor was reviewing the files Jason had sent over. He did not ask for this information simply because he didn't trust her, no. If he hadn't trusted her, Nestor would have never allowed the Galindos to hire her. This woman that he has been working alongside with for over a year, he barely knew; though the mercenary knew he could never learn her heart through digital files he could at least know about who she is and where she came from. Jason had not only sent over Ruby's files but also her parents' which Nestor thought was strange at first until he was halfway through her mother's file. Apparently Margret, Ruby's mother; had lost her hearing after an attack but the file doesn't explain who attacked her. Which were similar to the police reports on her dad doesn't say who shot him. This was strange to Nestor, but as he dug deeper into their files it was all making sense. Her dad was a member of the Sons of Anarchy Charming chapter.
"Shit," Nestor mumbled under his breath. Suddenly standing, he began to pace the room. Nestor knew she was connected to the SOA, but was unaware of how far her connection went. Suddenly without much thought the mercenary picked up his phone dialing Ruby's number paying no attention to the hour in the night. The phone rang, then rang a second time, then a third, after the fourth ring it went into voicemail. Quickly Nestor hung up and tried again. Again it rang once, then twice, by the third ring this time someone picked up.
"Ruby?" Nestor questioned into the phone.
"Try again Braids, it's two o'clock in the fucking morning. Now unless you have found that baby I suggest calling when the sun is up, like normal people." a deep and groggy voice replied.
Letting out a frustrated sigh Nestor replied "No, but I need to speak with her. Now," the mercenary finished sternly.
"If it's not about her work then there's no need to call this late or at all." the man on the other line quickly hung up the phone.
*On the other side of that line*
After hanging up the phone Happy climbed back in bed with Ruby pulling her close.
"Mmm club stuff?" Ruby asked sleepily.
"Yeah, told them they could wait till sunrise. Go back to sleep little girl." Happy responded.

Back at the Galindo compound Nestor threw his phone to the side as he lay on his back, staring at the ceiling. He felt lost in his head, as though his thoughts were the ocean and he no longer knew how to swim. How was Nestor to talk with Ruby and get the full story when she was with that man. He's known her for over a year now and he felt as though he knew nothing. Nestor had always tried to keep his distance for the purpose of keeping everyone safe, so that he could always stay sharp. Yet here he was completely taken off guard, all because he hadn't taken the time to get to know the bubbly redhead. 'She was with another man though, was he also apart of the SOA? Is that how she knew him? How could I have been so stupid!?' All of these questions were swimming through his head. As he lay there mulling over all these questions floating about, sleep had ultimately taken over for the night.

That next morning when Ruby was checking her phone, there was a missed call notification from Nestor. When she saw the time stamp, immediately her fingers were flying to dial his number and call him back. Since there was no voicemail left, Ruby hadn't had the slightest idea as to what he may have been calling about. Her hope was that they had found Cristobal though. The phone rang only once before being answered.
"Ruby?" Nestor quickly asked.
"Yeah, hey. I saw that I missed a call from you so I'm checking in. Have y'all found him?" the young redhead replied hopeful.
"Sadly no. Um I was actually wanting to speak to you about some information that was recently presented to me. Are you still in town?" he asked quietly, so those around wouldn't hear his conversation.
Sighing softly, Ruby contemplated telling him yes but she was so unsure, especially after how her conversation with Happy ended the other day about Nestor and the Galindo family.
"I am, we are leaving tomorrow after Happy takes care of some business though. Would you be able to meet today around noon?" Ruby responded quietly.
Looking down at the watch on his wrist, Nestor responded. "I can do that. Since your friend has business to tend to, would you need a lift?"
"No, I'll just have him drop me off beforehand. Can you meet at Fairgrounds? The coffee shop in downtown?"
"I can do that. I'll see you at noon Ruby." Before Ruby could respond Nestor hung up so he could go back to his responsibilities before meeting the redheaded nanny.
Sadly smiling at her phone Ruby put it away and begin cooking breakfast for her and the still sleeping Happy.
