context: It seems like Bell's struck gold! With an S-Classer and a bounty under their belt, B Team starts to find its foothold in the adventuring stardom painted in every once-child's dusty dreams. He has a chance— he has real, almost tangible proof that he has a chance to actually make it, to actually be something but...

Bell, confused about his dissatisfaction with his current career, turns to his adventuring senior, Kurin. They talk about it over lunch at a diner.

notes:
"...after the Arks left them stranded...": The existence of the Arks, a legendary fleet of city ships sailing the globe, was not confirmed by the public until Rukei and Shichi had been pursued and found out by adventurers for information, and have since lived on land. Shichi joined Kurin's team to look for a way back to the Arks, but the memory haunts Kurin. Both of Kurin's flashbacks take place two years before the current storyline.

ill probably post the short comics a little at a time but they're all on my ig!! Here's a little more information that i couldn't put in the instagram captions lol

This is the first real, completed, fully colored segment of the comic I did; when I first wrote this scene this was one of the most important scenes in B TEAM. There's a lot to the "adventurer" career in the comic that I have yet to explain, but actually making a career as a full-time adventurer would be a lot similar to going into professional sports, or music, or art. There's more people in the industry than the majority of the public thinks, and its very possible to make a living off of it. But becoming recognizable is incredibly difficult, and the profession dwindles as unexplored areas shrink, retreating to the ocean and to the stars. Because of Pytheas' challenge, however, there's been a resurgence of interest in adventuring.

Bell calls Kurin "Miss Rin" as a nickname. I'm not sure if I'll stick with it. I kinda wanna combine her name
Ku"rin Ka"toba into "Rinka", but "Rinka" is too cute of a name for this a—shole. Because he was treated with a lot of suspicion in his hometown for being fae, Bell retains a habit of quickly nicknaming humans or other humaa that are associated with being sensitive with full names (werewolves, vampires, etc.), even though the practice has fallen out of custom in most places.

Might make a character info compilation chapter?? also i hope i can. post a couple writing drafts. Some parts of B TEAM are written because i love being counterproductive!!! (but it does genuinely help with visualization and keeps me on track)
