The next morning, Nora was woken up by a knock on her door.
She crawled out of the bed, stretching, as she went to the door. "Keelan? Keelan's face was as bright as the sun as though he had been awake for a long time. "What is it?" she asked with her eyes half-open.
"What, you think you are on vacation?" he smiled at Nora's sleep lines. "C'mon, your training starts now!"
Though she was eager to start training, she was certain it was not morning yet. She looked out her window and sure enough, it was still dark. "What time is it?"
"It's past five." Nora yawned adorably which made Keelan press his lips together to prevent a smile from escaping.
"Okay. Lemme change." Nora went back inside to brushed. She washed her face and changed out of Keelan's clothes to a tank top and leggings Max gave her last night. Max could not stand to see Keelan's style on Nora. Nora put on her sneakers and came out of the room when she was done. Keelan was leaning on the wall, beside her door, waiting for her and he looked even more stunning.
"Ready?" Nora nodded in response and Keelan led her down the stairs.
Ice wind swept Nora's body immediately they stepped out of the house, through the back door. She wrapped her arms around her body, shuddering. "Damn, it's cold here," she said, gnashing her teeth.
Keelan fought back another smile, "You will get used to it."
"Don't you feel cold?" she sniffed.
"I was born here. I am used to the cold. It is normal for me and everybody else on the dimension."
Nora rubbed her hands over her arms, shivering. "I don't see myself getting used to this," she sniffed. "I hate cold weather."
"I have something that will warm you up."
"What is that?"
Keelan smiled and started jogging.
"Oh that," Nora warmed up with few squats before running into the cold.
Keelan slowed down for Nora to catch up with him.
"I hope there is a place I can buy a thick fleece jacket because this cold is not slowing down," Nora said after jogging for one minute. Keelan chuckled. Nora's nose was running. "Maybe if we talk about something..."
"No, please."
"...it will distract me."
"No."
"But, I'm very cold," Nora pouted.
Keelan stopped jogging. "Do you ever stop talking?" he asked Nora.
Nora rolled her eyeballs, "Not when I have something to say."
Keelan exhaled again, scratching his forehead. "What do you want to talk about?
"What is an Outpost?" Nora asked.
"That is a question," Keelan resumed jogging.
Nora followed him, "So you are not going to answer?"
"An Outpost is where active Seraphs lives, like a military base. There are seven Outposts, each representing the seven continents."
"Which one do you stay at?"
"South America Outpost, with Roman."
"Do your parents go on missions too? Like you and Roman?" Nora asked. Her hair bounced after her as she jogged, slowly forgetting the chilly air.
"No. They are retired. They do not go on active missions anymore, except on special occasions. Maybe to coordinate missions from the Sanctuary or any Outpost when the need arises."
