Nora felt a lot better after a warm shower. She put on the clothes Olivia left on her bed, two pairs of jeans and three tops. The jean was longer than Nora, she had to improvise by folding it into a three quarter. The tops were a perfect fit although, a bit long. She went to Max's room to comb her hair and use her make up. Max was more than happy to doll her up with a red lipstick and dark eye shadow. She also took her time to use a curling iron to turn Nora's straight long hair to beach waves. Nora looked at the mirror when Max was done and she was pleased with what she saw, she was pretty. She thanked Max and went downstairs.
Seth was formally dressed and reading a book in the living room. Nora did not recognize the language written on the book cover. "Hi, Seth."
Seth looked up to Nora, "Hello," he said and continued reading.
Nora looked around the living room, she knew Quinn was out with Olivia but doubted Roman could stay in his room this late in the morning. "Where is Roman?"
"Out... Running," he replied with his eyes buried in the book.
"' Kay." Nora suspected Seth wanted undivided attention for his book. She sat down away from him. Seth glanced at her and glued his face back to his book.
Keelan came downstairs a few seconds later. Nora was glad he broke the deafening silence with his steps though, Seth seemed unbothered by it. Keelan looked fresher, he must have had his bath too. His quiff hair was slightly rough at the top-a sexy bad boy kinda rough. He wore a dark blue jean and a black V- neck. His zayins were in his black sheath, beside his hip. Why was he carrying a weapon inside the house? As he approached Nora, she got a whiff of that sweet smell coming from him again and she bit her lower lips. Why did he smell and look so good at the same time?!
Keelan's eyes were on Nora's sleek hair which he had been tempted to stroke more than once. Those shining beach waves made her look like a goddess. A goddess with a flowing, wavy deep copper hair! When she looked over her shoulder to him, Keelan had to make a conscious effort to hide the sharp pain he felt as his heart skipped. She was magnetic! Keelan could see the handwork of Max but most of it was just Nora's. "Hey," that was all Keelan could say.
"Hi." Nora's lips twitched to the right.
Seth pushed his book aside to look at them, shifting his gaze from Keelan to Nora and back. He smirked and resumed his reading. He could smell the attraction between them coming from miles away. Seth could tell what Keelan and Nora were thinking, standing there in the living room.
A loud bang followed by a mild earth tremor jerked Nora and Keelan out of the awkward patina. The sound came from the Manor ground, outside. Keelan and Nora ran outside to check the source of the noise while Seth took his time and strolled behind them.
Miles away from the outer gate an enormous beast on smoke was charging towards the main building. "What is that?" Nora asked as she squinted her sight at the huge beast, running like a lion towards the gate.
"A fire demon," Max said and brought out her curved zayins. Nora had no idea how she got outside so fast.
"From Hell too?"
"Yes," Max answered.
"Why did I even bother to ask?" Nora muttered to herself.
Keelan drew his zayins from his sheath- oh, that was why he carried weapons everywhere, even at home. Keelan was battle-ready. His laser-focused eyes, fixed on the demon as it progressed towards them. Nora wished she had brought dessi with her or at least, a zayin.
"Asmodeus is getting very agitated," Max added with a grimace. The way she smirked in serious situations dazed Nora.
"Seth, you are coming?" Keelan asked.
