UNEXPECTED! stiles stilinski

CHAPTER THREE, back into the woods and first-line

CJ was back in the woods with Scott and Stiles looking for Scott's inhaler that he dropped las night.  She crossed a stream, trying to avoid stepping into any mud or water by walking on branches as the subject of lacrosse subject came up.

" I don't - I don't know what it was." Scott said in an amazed tone.

" It was like I had all the time in the world to catch the ball." he continued. " And that's not the only weird thing."

The three of them ducked under a tree branch as Scott explained. " I-I can hear stuff I shouldn't be able to hear. Smell things."

" Smell things?" Stiles asked in a disbelief tone.

" Like the strawberry scented lotion that CJ is wearing." Scott said and CJ's eyes widened.

" Okay, that's a little creepy."

Scott turned to face Stiles. " And I can smell the mint mojito gum in your pocket."

Stiles rolled his eyes and felt around in his pockets. " I don't even have any mint mojito-" he paused when his hand was in his left-hand jacket pocket.

Stiles pulled out a piece of green gum and looked at it in amazement. Scott gave him an 'I-told-you-so' look and then began walking.

Stiles looked over at CJ as if she was going to give him an explanation and she just shrugged her shoulders and followed Scott. Stiles puts the gum back in his pocket and jogs to catch up with his two best friends. " So all this started with a bite."

CJ rolled her eyes as Scott began to worry. " What if it's like an infection? Like, my body's flooding with adrenaline before I go into shock or something?"

CJ shakes her head, knowing full well what was really happening with Scott. " I don't think that's what it is."

"You know what? I actually think I've heard of this. It's a specific kind of infection," Stiles said seriously. Scott stopped instantly and looked at him.

"Are you serious?"

Stiles put his hands on his hips, and he looked like he was about to give bad news. "Yeah. I think it's called Lycanthropy."

CJ only hopes that the boys didn't see her eyes grow wide whenever Stiles said that. " I don't think that's what it is either." she quickly said earning a weird look from the boys.

She also hoped that Scott wasn't a werewolf because if he was and since the Argents are in town, things were going to be more difficult than they should be. She was surprised Scott didn't know what Lycanthropy was.

Scott looked from CJ and then to Stiles, obviously worried. " What's that? Is that bad?"

" Oh, yeah. It's the worst. But only once a month."

Scott looked over at CJ. " Is it -"

CJ rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. " No, you don't have a period." she said while Stiles snickered.
