jade"can't believe that happened!"
i said, opening the door to our favorite cafe.
"why can't you?i told you,jadelyn.we got this."
krissa says, giving me a wink as we sat on our designated table.
"there they are,hey babes."
that's marcus.our very supportive friend who's about the sexiest gay man i have ever met.
he walked to us,then gave us the usual peck on the cheek.
"hi,marcus."
"so,how was it??spill it,girls." he sat down across us.
krissa and i looked at each other, gave a smirk and said,
"marcus, meet your new friends--heather mcnamara and veronica sawyer!!"
"you're kidding!" his jaw dropped.
"no shit, sherlock!" krissa flipped her hair.
"oh my god, that's great news, babes!"
"i know right!" i shrieked.
we fangirled for about an hour before heading back to our apartments.
the rest of the day was just the three of us binge watching netflix.
marcus lives nextdoor.we've known each other since the first day i came here with krissa.
tragic throwback:
marcus was abandoned by his family after he came out to them and because of that,he moved here with his grandma and helped run her cafe which he now owns after his grandma passed.
marcus is basically family to me and krissa.
he means everything to us.
ruel
it's about 8 pm and i still haven't eaten anything.
i grabbed my phone to call justin.
he's staying over tonight so we can organize the rest of the play together."i'm sorry bro, traffic.i'm almost there tho." he said.
"hurry up,i'm starvi-"
"hey did you know there's a new club by Baywatch?they just opened."
"justin,did you stop by there?"
he paused before answering , "no,why?"
"you suck at lying.hurry the fuck up."
i grabbed a root beer in the fridge then hung up.
i couldn't stop thinking about earlier.
about the girl back at the theatre.
i know it's kind of stupid.
i know i said i didn't care about whoever comes through that door.
wait,what am i thinking?i don't.
i don't care about her.she's not my problem.
she's nothing special.she's a nobody.
that's exactly why she came in this city--to become somebody.
ugh,fuck off jade.
work is work,casts are casts.
nothing more.
"justin bates in the motherfucking building!"
he came in,holding two plastic bags in both hands and placing them in the table.
"chipotle and corndogs?" i walked to the table.
"your favorite, son." he patted my head.
"good.you owe me." i said, grabbing some and walking to the couch.
"i'm sorry, the club looked too sexy.i had to."
"that's what you say about all clubs..and girls."
he sat down across me.
"you can't blame me.i mean come on,you can't possibly be uninterested in hot girls."
i'm not.
"i am,i just have a different view with 'hot girls' and it's not the ones that breastfeeds you every fucking two seconds.literally no chill." i shrugged.
"what are you, a chivalry?"
"what are you, desperate?"
"psh, and i thought i was the one who suck at lying." he laughed as he stood and made his way to the kitchen.
"atleast i don't cheat,right justin?"
i teased."fuck off,van dick!" his voice echoed through the entire room.
hot girls,for me,are overrated.
i mean ofcourse i find some girls hot,like,im a guy.but it always feels like.....nothing.
i guess that's what you get living in a city like this and getting flashed at in the most awkward--and if not, worst places anytime.
i guess i still don't know my definition of hot.
but that's not my worry.
that's not important to me.
you are,jade.
wait,what the fuck?
