"My eyes are beyond your mortal imagination. For instance, my eyes can see straight through your armor."
Once Mulan stepped out of the zoo's office, she raced to the gift shop. Why, do you ask? She rushed to the gift shop to buy a stuffed dragon to add to her collection. Her collection of all things related to dragons.
This has to stop, she told herself after emerging from the store to the closest subway, clutching the bag. Mulan couldn't wipe off the excited smile that was plastered onto her face, caused by her new stuffed dragon as well as the interview (which went well, in case you were wondering). She sits on the hard bench, pulling out her phone to listen to her playlist for feeling excited (yes, she has a playlist meant for different emotions, don't judge). Bobbing her head to the music, she notices a text from Li himself.
"That bastard," she mutters under her breath, tapping the app for recent messages.
Hey there, it wrote. How are you this fine evening? Mulan distanced herself from the thoughts of Li forgetting that she was supposed to make the first move, and hastily texted back, her thumbs pressing the keyboards a mile a minute.
I was supposed to text first, she replies.
Oops. Sorry, he adds a surprised emoji to the end of his message.
Nevermind that, but I did buy a stuffed dragon.
Cool. What'd you name it? Mulan shouldn't be puzzled at the question. People name their beloved toys all the time. Usually, it would take her days before she came up with the proper name for the object, but this one snapped inside her immediately after she finished reading the message.
I think Mushu is a cool name.
I like it too.
She smiles at the comment. Darn, wasn't she great at naming things (stuffed dragons, for that matter)?
...
A.N. :: The song that's included sort of connects with the story - I couldn't come up with anything else.
