A month had gone by and Brooklyn was much more comfortable with the members of SAMCRO.
As time went by, she grew closer to each member, with different bonds between them.
Chibs had been a father figure from the start, whenever she needed help, he was there. Bobby was her confidante, always giving her the best advice and sneaking her one of his famous muffins everyday, even though he told everyone else he didn't have any. Juice was the brother she never had, always making her laugh and teaching her the easiest ways to hack someone. She went to Tig to hear his stories. The tales of his life made her feel better about hers. Piney became a hard ass uncle in a way, while Opie and his wife Donna quickly became her best friends. Gemma and Clay quickly became another set of parental figures, and then there was Jax.
Brooklyn didn't know what Jax was to her. Friend, bodyguard, family, protector? All of those things applied, but when she really thought about it, she knew that he was her safety.
The night she got back to the clubhouse after her drive with Richie, she instantly ran into Jax's embrace, the tears flowing all over again.
He led her to his room within the large building, offering his bed without a second thought. It was early in the morning when her trust grew for him immensely and her heart started opening up to him.
One month ago:
Jax had two hours left to sleep before he had to get to work in the shop, turning over on the uncomfortable couch by the bar, when he heard screaming coming from his room.
Lunging himself off the couch, he sprinted to his room, bursting through the door only to see Brooklyn sitting up, her knees to her chest as she hyperventilated, panic in her eyes.
Walking swiftly over to her, Jax sat at the end of the bed, gently touching her leg. He expected her to flinch away from him. What he didn't expect was for her to look at him before quickly crawling onto his lap and hooking her arms around his neck while she cried into it.
Jax froze in surprise for a moment before wrapping his arms around her. One hand on her hip as the other rubbed her back before moving to her hair, gently scratching her scalp while whispering that it would be alright and that he was there until she calmed down.
"I'm sorry." Brooklyn sniffled before moving her head and looked down at her lap, Jax quickly hooking his finger under her chin, encouraging her to look at him.
"Don't apologize, darlin'. Do you want to talk about it." He asked her gently.
Brooklyn shook her head, scared to replay it and say it out loud. "Just a stupid nightmare." She told him instead.
Jax was disappointed but understood that she wasn't ready to talk about it yet. "We still have a couple hours until we have to get up, why don't you try to sleep again?" He told her, rubbing her back again.
