"Derek? Derek, where are you?"

Derek Hale wasn't sure what he was feeling – he truly had terrible taste in women. First Kate, who although brough him Rory, also brought him nothing but misery; she'd given Rory to him only to come back some years later to take her away and burn down the house that his family was in, leaving him an orphan and alone. And now, Jennifer – a woman who was actually a dark druid and sacrificing people in the town, people who just so happen to include his own daughter.

"Right here" Derek informed her blankly as he came out of the shadows.

"Thank God" Jennifer let out a sigh of relief as she captured him in a hug,
"Something happened at the recital. At the school. Okay, I need to tell you before you hear it from any of them"

"From who?" Derek questioned in false curiosity.

"Scott and Stiles" Jennifer responded,
"They're gonna tell you things. Things you can't believe. You have to trust me, okay? You have to trust me"

"What is it?"

"Promise you'll listen to me" Jennifer pleaded with him.

Derek nodded once,
"I promise"

Jennifer went to kiss him, relieved that he would listen to her only to see something in his eyes, recoiling back she realised,
"They're already here, aren't they? So they told you it was me? That's I'm the one taking people?"

"We told him you're the one killing people" Scott corrected the woman as he and Stiles revealed themselves from behind a pillar.

"Oh, that's right. Committing human sacrifices?" Jennifer scoffed as if the notion was completely ridiculous,
"What? Cutting their throats? Yeah, I probably do it on my lunch hour. That was, I can get back to teaching High School English the rest of the day. That makes perfect sense"

"Where's my dad?" Stiles questioned, his voice cracking and tears swimming in his eyes.

"How should I know?" Jennifer shot back before rounding on Derek,
"Derek, tell me you don't believe this"

"Do you know what happened to Stiles' father?" Derek questioned sharply.

"No"

Scott watched the woman for a moment before choosing his next works extremely carefully,
"Ask her why she almost killed Rory and Lydia"

Derek glanced over at Scott for a second and Scott knew that his words had worked. Pull at the most tender part of Derek's heart: his daughter.

"Aurora Argent and Lydia Martin?" Jennifer questioned in false shock,
"I don't know anything about that"

"What do you know?" Derek demanded, his jaw clenched.

"I know that these boys, for whatever misguided reason, are filling your head with an absurd story" Jennifer informed the man before looking back at Scott and Stiles, and air of cockiness as she tacked on,
"And one that they can't prove, by the way"

"What if we can?" Scott raised a challenging eye brow as he pulled a jar from his pocket.

"What is that?" Jennifer questioned as she nervously eyes the jar.

"My boss told me it's a poison and a cure – which means you can use it and it can be used against you" Scott informed her as he unscrewed the cap.

Realisation dawned on Jennifer as she muttered,
"Mistletoe"

Just as the word came from her lips, Scott flicked his wrist and sent the mistletoe flying at the woman, causing her to change from her brown haired, brown eyes, English teacher appearance to her natural one – a scratched and scarred Darach.
