when we got to the field Jasmine quickly went to wear luke specifically told her not to. the crime scene. she went up to the tape and walked right under it like it wasnt even there. " Hey Jas?" " Yeah?" "What are we really doing here?" " I need to see the scene up close so i can get a good look. Luke toldme to." "Didn't Luke tell you to do the exact opposite of that?" "Eh, same thing." she started looking around standing in different places to see which was the best to see the full crime scene. talking to herself as she went.

Jasmine's POV

i was standing on a tree stump, talking to myself when it hit me. I walked over to where the new cop was standing a couple hours ago. It was perfect. the perfect spot for any serial killer to stand at. He wasn't isolating himself, he was looking over the whole damn thing. "I can't believe it." i whispered. "what?' Ashton sounded worried and nervous. "I can't believe i didn't notice!" " Notice what Jas?" i started ranting on and on about how i should've known what the cop was doing and how my dad taught me better. Jassy, your scaring me." Jas? Jassy?" "JASMINE ALEXANDRA DENT!" that's when i stopped talking because i knew Ashton and when he called me by my full name, i knew he was freaked out. " What did you find out?' "I'm tired and nervous and i just want to go home intoa nice warm bed, so will you just fucking tell me what you found?" " Your right your right i'm sorry. It's not even that big of a deal, I mean i ju- " Jasmine." "Okay! Okay." "you know how i said there was a new cop with the team? "Yeah, so what?" "So, he was in the perfect place to see the full crime scene. I mean he wasn't flicking his eyes back and forth because he was nervous, he was trying to read anyone and everyone's faces." "That doesn't mean he would kill someone, maybe he was just trying to get to know them." "You have such an innocent mind, it's like a six year olds." "Hey!" "It's True!" "Whatever." "Think about it, i mean a new guy shows up and there just happens to be a body?" "Maybe it was a coincidence?" "Some coincidence." i snorted. " i have to find the autopsy file on that body." iwas talking to myself again. "Oh no. no no no no. "No what?' "We are not going to brake into the police office to get a piece of paper in a folder, not tonight." but- "No." "Ugh, fine tomorrow meet me here at midnight." "Wait didn't I literally just say we are not going?" " You said not tonight." "You are so difficult at times Jas." "but you love me anyways." "That i do. That I do." Why is this so important to you anyways? I mean its just a body." " Because I don't want to be know as Billy Dent's daughter." I want to be know as me. not as the girl with a serial killer as a father."
