 Chapter 1

Every one of us think we know what we’re capable of. We have these rules that we set for ourselves that we would try and follow to a T. We tell ourselves every day that we have morals and there are certain things in life, which we would never do. We would look down our noses at those who doesn’t live up to our standards. We would judge others, not really understanding or taking the time to know, why they would break their own rules and do things that they would never have done before.

I should know, I was once one of those people who set rules and had morals. I had the most perfectly contented life. A great job, which I loved very much. A cute little apartment situated in the most perfect neighbourhood. A hobby that brought joy to my life, a caring family and a handsome boyfriend who loved me.

My life was perfect. Or was it?

My name is Amber Rose Parker and this is my story.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Amber stood outside this magnificent 18th century building, admiring the artistic way in which it was built. She loved old buildings, the distinctiveness about them sets them apart from other modern buildings. The romantic feel that they give off, makes one feel like they have missed out on a little of life from that era. To Amber they were just simply beautiful.

That particular building however, reminded her of a story her mother used to tell her and her older brother when they were younger. A story about an old building, which was over looked by many and was said to be haunted.

However, as magnificent as the building was, Amber was hesitant to enter. She was torn between going back home to her unfinished novel, or going to the stupid live art class that her best friend (who means well but was still in big trouble) signed her up for.

She stood there with the cool spring breeze blowing through her hair, cursing herself for not wearing her hair up. After 15 minutes of silent battle with herself, she sighed deeply and proceeded to enter the building.

Upon entering, she was slightly disappointed that the inside of the building did not live up to the outside. However, her disappointment was short lived, when she saw the graffiti art work, which covered every wall of the room from corner to corner.

The mixture of different colours splashed across the white walls, gave the place a feel of being vibrant and alive. To some it might look like vandalism, but to Amber it was a beautiful display of street art. Looking at the display made Amber feel right at home. She loved art, and seeing something as magnificent as what she was looking at, made her appreciate her talent even more.

“Hi there, are you here for the live art class?”

A soft spoken voice brought Amber out of her awe state. Turning, she smiled at the woman, who looked like she stole the rainbow to make her dress.
