Mikey: Age 9

"Ryo, I don't think w-we should do this," mikey pointed out, "we could get caught,  o-or yelled at-"

"Shut UP mikey," the young mikey frowned at her use of words, "we'll be fine."

Ryo climbed over the tall wooden fence connecting the clifford home to their neighbors house. Michael stood below her in swim trunks and a tshirt, anxiously awaiting the 'all clear' from his best friend. Ryo disappeared over the top of the fence. Not long after, Michael heard a loud 'thump' from the other side. He instinctively took a step forward.

"Ryo?" He whispered, just loud enough for her to hear.

"I'm fine stupid, come get in the pool with me," she nagged. Michael hesitated again.

"I d-don't know," ue was really getting worried, "what if-"

Ryo cut Mikey off with a groan

"Live a little"

Mikey: Age 11

"Ryo, where are you going?" Mikey questioned as he walked quickly down the hallway with her.

"I told you I was gonna do that prank today,"

"But you could get caught,"

"Whats your point?"

Ryo confidently walked into the 'Teachers Only' bathroom, the bottle of glue gripped tightly in her small hands. Michael stayed outside, planning to keep watch. Having different plans, Ryo stuck her head back out the the door and motioned for Mikey to come inside with her.

They quietly walked through the small bathroom. Ryo checked under every stall, making sure the bathroom truly was empty. She pulled the glue out of her pocket as she walked over to the sinks. She put the slow-drying glue on each sink knob and coated each one thoroughly.

"Come on Mikers, you do one," she held the glue out to him and sliently challenged him. She knew he wouldn't do it.

"I don't think this is a good idea," Michael protested. Ryo rolled her eyes.
"Live a little"

Mikey: Age 13

"Ryo no," Michael begged, "please don't."

Ryo smiled sadly at her best friend. She had just recieved the news herself, but she knew Michael needed to be the first to know.

"Why do you have to leave?" He asked unknowingly. Ryo looked down.

"M-my dad, he," Ryo sniffled, looking at her shoes. She struggled to keep her composure, "he's giving me up. I have to go live with my mother in Washington."

"I-i don't understand. You and y-your dad, you're so close," he stuttered

"He lost his job Mikers, he can't afford to take care of me anymore. He only wants whats best for me,"

"B-but," Michael srarted to protest again, but soon realized it was no use, "just promise me one thing."

Ryo looked up, "yeah?"

"Don't forget me."

She smirked, "never. But you have to promise me something too."

"Anything."

"Learn to live a little"

A/N

So this is the prologue to Live A Little. I hope you like it ^-^

I picked Ryo's name because it means 'defy'. I was looking for her name, when I cam across this unique japanese name that meant exactly what she is. Ryo is defiance and life, but she's something even more to Michael.

So if you like it, add it to your library. I'm a pretty slow updater just because I get extreme writers block all the time. I try to update around 4 to 5 times a month, which is on average once a week. Thanks for reading!
